Hi I'm Spencer

I grew up in Arizona, and I'm an athlete, student, musician, and friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hey! I'm the second eldest of 6 children in our awesome home in AZ. I am currently on a mission, in Mexico City, Northwest Mission. In school, I participated in a few special activities including band, basketball, and volleyball. I didn't know what it meant to have fun until I stepped on a volleyball court! I'm in love with music and some of the most extraordinary moments in my life have been because of the sheer power of music. In 2013, I was the 3rd chair trumpet in the state of Arizona. Those close to me can find me singing probably 80% of the day! As my dad puts it, I have "musical tourettes"! Two of my favorite hobbies are eating and playing piano! Unfortunately piano playing isn't a huge calorie burner so to stay fit I like to jump and run and do everything that basketball and volleyball incorporate (basically pure running and jumping). At school I'm an honor student. I put as much time as I need to into shool so that I can come out with the best grades I can earn! Some consider me a nerd, but I really don't care! I love math, BIG DEAL! Those people like my help anyways haha. Well, thaaaat's me!

Why I am a Mormon

I LOVE my Savior Jesus Christ. I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but that's not the end of my story. My parents instilled in me a love for going to church, being a good friend, and trying my very best in all that I do and say! But when I got a little older and life threw some heavy storms at me, I had to learn for myself what it meant to be a follower of Christ. By reading the Bible and The Book of Mormon I have been able to understand more fully the teachings of the ancient prophets, and they are AMAZING! Whether they lived before Jesus, and they prophecied of His coming, or the lived after Jesus and they strived to carry on the good word to the future generations, each prophet that contributed to both of these witnesses of Christ did so only through the power of God and the Holy Spirit. When I read a passage of The Book of Mormon and a rush of chills goes through me as I discover another truth among the thousands of doctrinal messages available, I can do nothing more than give praise to my God and thank him for the wonderful things he as made available to me and those that I love!!! One thing that really makes a profound impact on my soul is music. Through hymns, and arrangements of hymns, and other songs that are wholly inspired by the Spirit of God, I have found myself some of the most extraordinary feelings of peace and joy and comfort! I don't cry much, but when my dad stands up and sings a heartwarming song in front of our congregation at church I bawl like a baby, not because of sadness, but because of joy, and the overwhelmingly peaceful Spirit that has encompassed my soul. It's absolutely incredible. I sincerely love my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and our Father in Heaven! I really do not know where I would be if I did not have the knowledge of their reality. They are real. I have prayed and received an answer of the truthfulness of them and the Holy Ghost and this Gospel. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I am an active member of my ward in Arizona. I do my best to attend all youth meetings and gatherings and to have fun and enjoy life with those that share my beliefs! I am an Eagle Scout, which has been a blessing in my life. At home, I would do home teaching with my dad every month. This simply means that my dad and I go out to visit a few families each month and share a spiritual message with them as well as get to know them better! I love all the families we visit, and I love our own home teachers as well! They bring a sweet spirit into our lives every month!
