Hi I'm Marie

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Northern California with a family of one brother and one sister and my parents.

About Me

After high school, I graduated from college and became an art teacher. I taught at all levels before starting a family. My husband and I have four boys. When I can't paint, I sew, quilt and do family history. Since my boys are grown now with families of their own, I enjoy sewing for my grand kids and tending them during summer vacation. I've taught them to swim, camp and raise chickens and goats. I do a lot of Indexing in association with my family history gathering. Two years ago my kidneys failed and I am on home hemodialysis with my husband as my partner. We love to travel, especially cruising and take my dialysis equipment right along with us. We are looking forward to retiring and traveling.

Why I am a Mormon

The missionaries found me one day when they were knocking on doors. I knew some Mormons and liked their lifestyle so I let them in to tell me more about the Church. I believed what they told me and after reading and gaining a testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, I was baptized a few months later. I met my husband at church and we were married in the Salt Lake Temple. Because of my husband's work, we have lived all over the USA and Canada. The Church has provided us with instant friends as we have moved into a new community and has provided many opportunities for Church service. I believe that the Lord Jesus Christ directs my life as He directs the affairs of His church. I have a strong testimony of the power of prayer and the power of the Priesthood in my life.

How I live my faith

Church attendance is very important to me. I have had many different callings over the years. Right now I am a Family History Consultant, helping those who are interested do research to locate family members from their past. I am also a Visiting Teacher and love the women I visit. Visiting Teaching is the Lord's way to keep in contact with each woman in the Church. I love to participate in Church service projects that provide relief and support to those in need, both at home and abroad.
