Hi I'm Rebecca

I attend high school in the United States. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 15 years old. I am a good student and am in honors and AP classes at my local high school. I have a mom, a step-dad, and three younger brothers. I love to sing and hang out with friends. I've been a member since I was 4 or 5 when my mom was converted to the church. I love my life and the church, I don't know where I'd be without it.

Why I am a Mormon

My mom was converted to the gospel when I was 4 or 5. I've been a strong believer all my life. I've been through a lot of hard trying things that have tested my faith but no matter what I am going through, I know that I can turn to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for help and comfort. I testify that Jesus is our Savior and redeemer and I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church of God. I love my Savior with all my heart. I know the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God. I love my church!

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday by attending early morning seminary. I wake up at 5:15 every morning and get together with other youth ages 12-18 to study the scriptures and learn from our amazing teacher before going to school. I'm also the president of the mia maids class at my church which consists of all the 14-15 year old young women in our ward. I attend church every sunday at 9 in the morning. I am asked questions about my faith from my friends and sometimes my friends even try to argue with me about my church. I try to answer my friends questions and discuss my religion with them. Many people tell me that there is no scientific proof that suggests that my religion is true. I tell them "I don't need scientific proof to know that my church is true, that God exists, and that Jesus loves me. My faith and testimony of my church is proof enough."

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Only baptized and worthy members are allowed to enter the temples. The temples are not secret they are SACRED. The things that happen in the temples are sacred. In the temple, we do baptisms for the dead where members stand in as proxies. Through baptisms for the dead, the people that are dead are given the opportunity to receive the gospel of Jesus Christ. Also, we are sealed as families for time and all eternity. This means that we are given the opportunity to live together again as a family even after death. Show more Show less
