Hi I'm Bentley

I love to create things. I am one out of 8 kids in my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest child in my family, but the second oldest in my combined family. There are 10 of us all together. I love to laugh and smile, and to spend time with my family and friends. I enjoy finding "little things" in life. I love my life, and I am always searching for more reasons to fall in love with it over and over again. I am currently a missionary serving in the France Paris mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a loving and supportive LDS, or Mormon, family, and I chose to be baptized when I was 8 years old, and am still choosing to be a faithful member of His church, which isn't easy for most people my age. When I was 11, my father passed away in a four-wheeling accident that turned my whole world upside down. For almost 4 years, I wasn't progressing in the way I should have. Growing up without a father figure in my early teen years was a hard, and constantly challenging experience for me. I had to be there for my mom and three younger siblings, and myself when all I wanted to do was... nothing. Needless to say, those years were probably my lowest point in life, and I don't plan on turning back. Ever. My mom remarried when I was 15 to a widower with 4 kids also, resulting in our family of 10. Thankfully, when I thought my life was about to get "worse", it actually got better. Sure, doubling the size of my family, moving to a new town with a new school and new friends, wasn't going to be the easiest thing, and it still isn't, but through the true and restored Gospel of Jesus Christ, I have found all the comfort, guidance, blessings, and overall happiness I KNOW I could not get from anything else on this earth. Because of remaining faithful during my trials, I gained so much more than I probably deserve. My whole attitude toward life completely turned around, and now I'm walking on the right path, walking besides our Savior, who helps me in all my trials. I've never been happier and better than I have been ever before. This is my new life, and I've learned to embrace it, and make the most out of what I've been blessed with, and turn things over to the Lord when times are tough.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in every choice I make. It's not easy to be of my religion in a world where the moral compass isn't  pointing North. But I do it with a full heart, because I know that far greater things are in store for me if I live my life in the way that the Savior lived His. I fortunately learned this principle at an early age and it helps me see life in a bigger perspective than most people my age. I am far from perfect, but that doesn't stop me. In fact, it pushes me forward. I also try to be positive, and including and encouraging of everyone, even though it brings me out of my small comfort zone, I know it truly blesses me and will benefit me now and in the life to come. I am now trying to look for opportunities to serve others and make a change in someone else's.
