Hi I'm Sandie

I grew up in Wisconsin and I have lived in Illinois, Arizona and Colorado. I'm a wife, a mother, a grandmother and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have worked as a microbiologist for many years; it is a fascinating profession that is constantly changing and it keeps me on my toes. My children are grown up and married and I have been married to my wonderful husband for nearly 42 years. I guess you could call us "empty nesters." I have three darling grandchildren. I enjoy hiking, gardening and traveling. I am interested in geology and archaeology and have been collecting interesting rocks and fossils all of my life. I am also quite interested in nutrition and try to keep up to date on new information.

Why I am a Mormon

After reading the Book of Mormon, and prayerfully taking the challenge in Moroni 10:3-5, the Holy Ghost confirmed the truthfulness of this sacred scripture in a way that I could not deny! I am thankful for the gift of the Holy Ghost in my life; it guides me and directs me through life's difficult and challenging times. I am thankful for the direction given by our Prophet today, Thomas S. Monson. I know that he receives revelation directly from God for our church. I am thankful that we have Sunday School each week for all ages. Every four years we read and study The Old Testament, The New Testament, The Book of Mormon and The Doctrine and Covenants. Then we start the cycle again. There is always something new to learn and put into practice in my life.

How I live my faith

I serve as a Primary (Sunday School) teacher for the 7 years olds in our congregation. It is a great blessing in my life to study the Gospel and teach it to these special children each week. I also serve as a Visiting Teacher.I visit two women in my congregation every month and bring them an uplifting message from our Church that inspires them and helps them with challenges in their lives. Nearly every woman in the Church is a Visiting Teacher and also gets visited herself. This prevents any from feeling alone and reminds us how much our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ loves each of us. I love my Savior Jesus Christ and try each day to follow His example.
