Hi I'm Cliff Gustafson

I am a husband. I am the father of six children. I am a high school teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy coaching my kids' athletic teams. I am a sports enthusiast and am passionate about health, fitness, and nutrition. But, my favorite thing to do is spend time with family.

Why I am a Mormon

I could say that I am a Mormon because it makes me happy, but it is much more than that. I have been taught to pray, study scripture, serve others, keep my mind on the things of Christ, and have gratitude for all that I have. And although I am far from perfect, the more I try to align my life with that of the Savior, the happier and more at peace I am. My wife and I have been raising our six children "Mormon" and have absolutely no regrets with that decision. In fact, I could not be more grateful as some of our children have reached the age to prepare and serve Mormon missions -- experiencing the increase in their happiness as they serve and lead others to Christ has been incredible. I have studied, prayed and have received numerous answers from the Holy Ghost confirming to me that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the kingdom of God on the earth. I have heard it said that the Lord does not ask us to do right, but has stated, "prove me now herewith." Well, I can testify that to the extent that I have kept His commandments, He has opened the windows of heaven and has poured His blessings upon me.

How I live my faith

I do my best to live my faith every minute of everyday. It is who I am. I try to act as a disciple of Christ, regardless of my role; husband, father, son, brother, friend, teacher, employee, co-worker, stranger, or citizen. I pray, read scriptures, attend church individually and with my family. I teach Sunday School and make monthly visits to other members of the church to share faith-promoting thoughts and offer service. It is also important to me to be a good and educated citizen and do my best to volunteer for service projects in the community.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Cliff Gustafson
The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and the key to coming to know if Mormonism is true. It is my experience that if someone puts forth the time and effort to read the Book of Mormon, with an attitude of prayer, applying its principles into their life, and humbly and in faith asks God if it is true, the truth of it will be manifested by the power of the Holy Ghost. I have done this and received a witness for myself. I have found in my life that studying the Book of Mormon and trying to live by its precepts has brought me closer to the Savior. When I am doing that, I am happier and more at peace. The gospel of Jesus Christ has offered hope and comfort in my life, even through the most trying times. The gospel of Jesus Christ will never fail you. I know what living the gospel does for me and I testify that it can do the same for you. Show more Show less
