Hi I'm Shannon

I am an Arizona Native with 7 step-children and 2 of my own. After my family, I love America, design, and sports. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I would say I am funny, creative, competitive, athletic, outgoing, hardworking, and honest. I just finished my Bachelors Degree in Communication and am looking forward to finishing my Project Management Certificate and eventually a Bachelors Degree in Interior Design. Right now, I get to stay at home as a mother. I have 7 step-kids and 2 children with my husband. The kids range from 17 to 6 months and yes, my husband was such a great catch that the kids didn't phase me. When I am not taking the kids to sports, dance, school, or anything else, I like to craft, make necklaces, shop, and watch design shows. I feel so lucky to have my husband in my life. We love to travel, play or watch sports, Seinfeld, and going out for sushi or creme brulee.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I am the happiest when I follow the teachings that go along with the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Our Heavenly Father's plan is for all of us to be happy. He sent his son, Jesus Christ, here to die for all of us that we can return to live with him again after we leave this earthly life. I am at peace because I know where I came from, why I am here and where I will go after this life. As part of the plan, Heavenly Father created families. The family unit is greatly responsible for our learning and growth and our biggest support. Knowing that Jesus Christ died for me, I am confident that I can make it through any trial with his help. The Church that Christ preached while he was here on earth was lost when his apostles died. I know that the church was restored to the earth when Joseph Smith prayed to find out the truth. We can also receive answers to our prayers through the Holy Ghost and I know this is an important part to religion today because Heavenly Father wants us to be happy. I believe that the book of Mormon is a record of Christ visiting the Americas and is true along with the New and Old Testaments. All of these books are for our benefit and learning. Our Heavenly Father loves us so much and I can feel his love because I follow the principles taught by this church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others. Within the church I am on a committee that plans events for the women 18 and over. We meet to craft, learn new trades and how to take care of our homes and families. I love to interact and learn from others anything that can make life easier or better. We also have some meeting where we learn about our Savior and how we can be more like him. I also serve by visiting a few woman from church once a month. I check on them and share with them a message about our Savior. If they need anything, I make sure that they have resources that they need. I think it is fun to meet new people and some of these people have become my dear friends. I also serve as the Webelos leader in our local cub scouts troop. I have done this for over 2 years now and love the challenge of helping these boys reach their goals. On a daily basis, I live my faith by being honest with others, and being a good example to my children, friends, and family.
