Hi I'm Jerry

I grew up in Southern California and loved playing tennis and playing the piano.

About Me

My husband and I have served missions for our church over a period of 10 years plus and have traveled to the South Pacific and all through Europe and some of the islands. This has given us a love for all people ,knowing we have the same desires for peace, family and work. Being a widow at this time, I have pleasure in doing history work and playing the piano for our church choir. We were blessed with a family of 12 children and being close to them bring great joy in my life and hope for a better world for them. Family is one of the most important aspects of life, so cherrish those moments you have in rearing your family.

Why I am a Mormon

Missionaries came to our city and taught my mother the Gospel of Jesus Christ and in turn I listened and wanted to be baptized. I really gained a testimony at an early age, because I read the Book of Mormon and when I finished reading it I knew it was true. I also wanted to be like the missionaries who were sent to us because they always seemed so happy and content while teaching us. I decided then I wanted to be like them and tried to monitor my life after the teachings of the Savior. I can truly say that one can meet all obstacles and trials that come to one in life when they have a true knowledge of the Plan of Salvation which is taught from the beginning knowing where we came from, why we are here, and where we can go.

How I live my faith

I try to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ by being a good neighbor to people around me; remembering them during holidays and other special events by taking goodies to them and having conversations with them. I have worked with the young children , the teenagers and the women in our church in various capacities; leadership and teaching.. I love the Visiting Teaching Program which enables the women to visit monthly the women in our church. Basicly, to give a message of encouragement, to check on their welfare and needs. My greatest joy is being able to attend the Temple which is about 45 minutes away from my house and I will spend the morning attending it. The peace, joy and help I receive by doing this cannot be described only by saying I leave with great joy and peace in my heart. I am ever ready to serve wherever there is a need; be it a family in need of a meal, a word of encouragement; or an act of kindness to help ease the burden . Service brings great joy to one who does the act. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I know He lives. I know He loves me and all of His children and wants all of us back home again. If we follow Him, we can return to Him, this I know.
