Hi I'm Stephanie

I have lived in Colorado most of my life. I have a wonderful husband and 2 beautiful children. I am a working mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and mother of two beautiful teen age children. I just recently returned to working full time. This has been challenging, but a great blessing. When I am home, I love to spend time with my kids and my husband. We try to find every opportunity to spend time together. I enjoy watching my kids play sports and since they are both musicians, I love listening to them play music. I also enjoy movie nights with my family. We really like to get in our PJ's, make a great big batch of popcorn, curl up with our blankets and watch a movie. Just being together is what it is all about!

Why I am a Mormon

I have not been a Mormon all of my life, in fact I didn't join the church until I was in my 30's. My husband and I knew that there must be something more to life than just what we were experiencing. When we moved to the city we currently live in, we met a great family that lived across the street. They had a great family dynamic. Something I knew I wanted, but didn't think I could have. We began spending a lot of time with them, talking about family history and getting involved in some really fun activities. When they asked if we would like to meet with the missionaries, my husband and I both agreed. We talked with them several times and I had a great feeling about what they were telling me. I knew there was something more to life and this was it. But could someone like me, who came from a lifestyle that was completely different from theirs, be a Mormon? Would they really want someone like me? The missionaries shared with me that no matter what, my Heavenly Father loves me and that the Attonement of Christ could help me to realize that love and help me understand my great worth. I felt such a warm, peaceful feeling after that conversation. I prayed about what they had told me and I knew that the love they spoke of was true. My Father in Heaven loves me! I know this is a truth. I knew that this was where I needed to be, I knew that the Gospel of Jesus Christ was true and I knew that I wanted to be a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I currently work with the children in our ward. I am blessed to serve in the capacity that I do. I am able to help organize our weekly lessons, help teach and help with music. I really enjoy watching the children as they sing about our Savior and share the things they are learning about the Gospel. They are such wonderful kids, they really teach me more that I could teach them. I also help oversee the Cub Scout program. This is such fun! Those young boys LOVE Cub Scouts. Visiting teaching is another fun thing that I love to do. This program is such a blessing! We get to schedule time with the other ladies in our ward and talk about our lives and our needs. We also share a beautiful message about the church and how it blesses our lives. I love that there are so many ways to serve others. I love this Gospel!

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Stephanie
A "testimony" is a spiritual witness that we feel about the principles of the Church. The core of a testimony is the knowledge that our Heavenly Father lives and loves us. That Jesus Christ lives and that He is the Son of God. It is knowing that Jesus carried out the Atonement and that Joseph Smith is a prophet and the he was called of God to restore Jesus Christ's true church to the Earth. It is knowing that we have a living prophet on the Earth today and that he has been called by God to lead and guide us. It is knowing that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Savior's true church on the Earth today. Show more Show less
