Hi I'm Austin

I'm an Army Brat. I'm a Soldier. I'm a Veteran of Iraq. I'm a Constructor. I'm a Divorced Dad. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Father of two amazing boys. They are the core of my life. I do what I do for them. I continue in the face of adversity because I have to be an example for them. They give me reason to smile and love life. After 9/11 in 2001 I commissioned as an Officer in the Corps of Engineers and served fro five years on Active Duty. I am now a National Guard Soldier. I served in Iraq after the fall of Baghdad. I served in Louisiana in the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. I served at the ready during the Democratic National Convention of 2008. I continue to serve and will till they make me retire.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Later Day Saint or Mormon Family. My Parents did their best to teach us to be honorable, contributing members of our Nation and the World. I kept their faith of my own free will because I looked at their example and followed it. By doing the things they taught me, I found my own testimony of Jesus Christ. I took this testimony and I served a two year mission among the people of Poland. I continue to serve the Church in what ever ways I can. I am doing my best to pass on my Gospel heritage to my Sons.

How I live my faith

I try to do more than just attend Church every Sunday. I believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ is a message of Action. Our Faith is useless if we do not show forth works worthy of Christ's example. A change of heart will best bring out a change of behavior. We are told that when we are in the Service of our Fellow Man, we are in the Service of our God. This is what motivates me to volunteer my time with our Congregation's Cub Scout Pack. This is what motivates me to shovel snow at our chapel. This is what motivates me to participate in our Home Teaching Program. This is what motivates me to live the best life of Service I can.
