Hi I'm Michael Wilson

I am a stressed out married college student, I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am from Pasco WA, I live in Idaho with my beautiful wife. I spend most of my time working on my bachelors degree in biology. We love doing things outdoors like snowboarding, sports, hiking, camping, rock climbing and boating just to name a few. I am worried about being a father one day and supporting and leading a family.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the Church. My family attended meetings every Sunday and I always was involved in youth programs and scouting. I didn't appreciate what the Church did for me until I started to grow up and realize that living what the gospel taught me saved me from so many problems that we cause to brought on ourselves. I served a mission for two years in Peru and Bolivia. After that experience I can say that no matter what, I will always be a part of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I saw how people who lives were in shambles were able to learn about their father in heaven, his son Jesus Christ and the teachings that they had given us. The became so much happier as they followed the commandments of our Heavenly Father and got their lives back. I know that a family can be together forever, I want to live with my wife and our future children forever. And by being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and living the commandments, I know it will happen.

How I live my faith

Right now my wife and I teach a class during the second hour the three hour church meeting every Sunday. I also am a home teacher, which means I, along with another member of the Church visit two families a month, give them a short message and see if there is anything they need help with. Every member of the church is giving a type of visiting assignment. Other than that I try to help out others in their assignments in the church.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Michael Wilson
A scripture in The Book of Mormon explains this very well so we'll start there. Alma 34:32 32 "For behold, this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God; yea, behold the day of this life is the day for men to perform their labors." Our Heavenly Father sent us down here to grow and be tested. He wants to bless us by allowing us to live with him. But we have to prove that we deserve this. He wants to see if we love him enough to follow his commandments, and follow his will instead of just doing whatever we feel like doing with our time here. Also, his commandment help us to live happier lives, but sometimes it is hard to know that unless you try them for yourself. Also living with him means we have to act like him, so by living his commandments, we are prepared more to live with him. If we were doing bad things on earth, it would difficult to suddenly change and have to act like he does. Show more Show less
