Hi I'm Ike

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married and have 5 children, four girls and one boy. We enjoy spending time together. We especially love boating, camping/hiking, traveling and eating. We also enjoy watching movies and playing games together. I am a dentist by profession and specialize in root canal therapy. I have been married for 21 years to the girl of my dreams. This is my greatest joy in life and her greatest trial. We moved around a lot during our early marriage to attend schools and for military service. We even lived in Germany for 4 years. It was fantastic. I am finally trying to lay down some roots and have chosen sunny Arizona.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has the fullness of Jesus Christ's gospel and provides all of the principles and ordinances that are necessary for salvation and eternal life. These include Eternal Marriage which binds couples and families together forever. This is my fondest dream. These principles and ordinances are performed under proper Priesthood authority restored from the heavens. I am also a mormon because the LDS church is led by "Apostles and Prophets with Jesus Christ himself as the Chief Cornerstone." I find it very comforting in this world of confusion to be led by Prophets who receive revelation from God. I am a mormon because of the additional scripture that has been revealed to the latter day prophets including the Book Of Mormon Another Testament of Jesus Christ. I am a mormon because the LDS church members seek out their ancestors and provide saving ordinances for them in Holy Temples (the LDS church is concerned about the salvation of all, both the living and the dead). I am a mormon because of the service opportunities that the LDS church provides and the happiness it brings my life. I am a mormon because the gospel teaches me to Love, and the love of family and others if very powerful. I know that these things are true and good through personal revelation and the feelings in my heart.

How I live my faith

The LDS church has provided me with many opportunities for service and personal growth over the years. I have been involved in youth leadership and scouting. I had the opportunity to serve a full time mission when I was 19. I have had various callings and assignments over the years working with youth and adults, teaching assignments and leadership opportunities. I am currently a clerk over finances in my congregation. I also have an assignment to home teach a few families in the congregation and a young man incarcerated in prison. My Priesthood ordination has allowed me to bless and baptize my children and others. I have at times been called on to give prayers and sermons in church. I have tried to be a student of the gospel over the years by attending church education classes and through personal study. Mostly I try to live my faith by being a good husband and father and a good example to others.
