Hi I'm Clinton.

I grew up in the southwestern US in a Mormon family. I now reside in the Midwest with my wife and four children.

About Me

I grew up in the western US deserts of Arizona, Utah and Nevada. I now live in the Midwest. I am married and have 4 children. I enjoy playing frisbee or football with my kids and spending time with my family. I'm grateful for this country and the inspired people who served and sacrificed and those who continue to do so to preserve this free nation. We have multiple house projects going on at the moment including furniture restoration, painting, electrical and plumbing.

Why I am a Mormon

The doctrine of this church expands my understanding, guides my life, and helps me be a better husband, father, employee, and citizen. LDS doctrine ranges from simple, foundational principles to deep and hard to understand areas that might not even have a clear answer at the moment, but with time, effort, and study, can become clear. This gospel enlightens the mind and enables you to grow beyond what you thought yourself capable of. Listen to this promise from God: "I will give unto the children of men line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little; and blessed are those who hearken unto my precepts, and lend an ear unto my counsel, for they shall learn wisdom; for unto him that receiveth I will give more;" 2 Ne 28:30 I know this church is of God and blesses my life.

How I live my faith

Question: What happens to a muscle in a cast? Answer: Atrophy. When someone wants to build muscle, it requires a lot of effort. And if workouts are stalled or quit entirely, perhaps due to an injury, the muscles weaken over time. To continue growth and to maintain healthy and strong muscles require daily effort. So it is with our faith in God- which requires daily scripture study, prayer and service. And so I live my faith striving to maintain the foundational principles( serving in my ward, scripture study and prayer) which help keep and strengthen my faith.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

The temple is a sacred place where all are invited to prepare and then to come. There are people who are at different levels of this journey. For example: Could you expect an elementary student to perform back surgery? No. They have to learn a lot of basic principles and foundational information before they are even ready to perform such a feat- But with time and effort in high school, college, med school, and surgical residency with countless hours of study and practice, they will be able to confidently pick up a scalpel. And so it is with learning in the Church of Jesus Christ with years of study of the scriptures, prayer, church attendance, worthiness, and service. So, when a member is ready, they will then go to the temple prepared to learn the eternal truths and receive the ordinances for themselves which make it possible to live with your family forever.
