Hi I'm Matt

I am a father of four, love the great outdoors, served as a United States Navy dental officer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am happily married to one of my best friends from high school and we have four very active children. Our oldest is starting college, the other three are in high school, middle school and elementary school. They are all very involved in sports and other activities which have our family in constant motion. After four years of undergraduate education in business management and four more years of dental school, I joined the U.S. Navy and enjoyed my service providing dental care for military members in California. Now over ten years later our family is happy to reside in our native state of Colorado where I am owner and dentist of my own dental practice. I love helping people and restoring their smiles. I love any activity that lets me enjoy the beautiful scenery of Colorado. I ski in the winter and mountain and road bike in the summer. You can find me jogging around the neighborhood on any given day of the year preparing for another half marathon. My family loves spending time together and especially traveling to new places and hiking in the back country of Colorado. I love my life as a Colorado Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born and raised a member of this church, there comes a time when it is critical to find out for yourself if it is truly God's Church on the earth. I first remember as a 12 year old boy while attending regular church meetings and activites, feeling something very different inside. The feeling was a deep spiritual connection to God and the more I learned about the gospel of Jesus Christ, the more I could feel His hand guiding my life. Faith in Jesus Christ and a conviction that he died for my sins is the center of my beliefs and the central to all teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a Mormon I continue to live the principles of the restored gospel and my spiritual direction increases and I feel more direct communication with God. God blesses my family and I as we follow His commandments and our lives are enriched bringing peace and joy which the world cannot provide. in a world of changing values I am grateful to belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where true principles provide an anchor of faith for my family. We know that families are critical to God's plan for us on this earth and families ties continue beyond the grave. The best part of being a member of this church is that my children and friends don't have to just take my word that it is true. They can pray and find out for themselves and God will whisper in their heart as he did and still does in mine!

How I live my faith

Currently I serve in our local congregation by working with the 12 and 13 year old boys. I am a boy scout leader to this enthusiastic group of 9 boys. We go on incredible adventures hiking and camping throughout the mountains of Colorado, in rain, shine or snow. In addition to week day scouting activites, I help teach the boys on Sunday at church, helping them gain their own faith in Jesus Christ. We put our faith into action this past Christmas. This group of boys and their adult leaders adopted a family in need in our community. We purchased gifts for the parents and their four children and helped provide some other basic necessities for this family. The boys could feel the true spirit of Christmas as they hand delivered the wrapped gifts and interacted with the children in their home and realized how blessed they are in their own families. We love providing service to those in need inside or outside of our congregation as scouts and young followers of Jesus Christ!
