Hi I'm Jeremiah

I'm from Mesa, Az and am 25 years old. I'm just a regular college student trying to discover my place. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a child from a family of 6 kids, and the only boy. I grew in a Mormon (LDS) home and had that experience since I was young. I'm glad for my up-bringing. I learned a lot of the things that make me who I am today because of the experiences I had with my family. I'm one of those people who likes to understand things in how they work and in the over-reaching principles that everything else works around. I spend a lot of time thinking about the world and people, and how things work together. I like to know as much as I can about everything in my life so that I can do my best to make right choices. It stands to reason that I'm interested in engineering and philosophy. I also like dancing. I have kind of grown up in dancing since I was twelve years old. I started dancing with my little sister when one of my older sisters taught us how to country swing. From there I went to learning east-coast swing in High school, and then Ballroom in College. I enjoy it because of the interaction I can have with others. I meet friends out dancing and enjoy getting to know new people there too. I'm pretty much a simpleton. I guess I don't have that many things in my life at one time, though I do still have to make those decisions about what I want in my life and how I use my time. I'm not perfect but am glad for those times where I recognize that I can be better, because I can look forward to having the better life that comes from being more like the person I'd like to be.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe that there's a way everyone can be happy in the purest and most potent sense of the word. I've had many difficult experiences and though it wasn't fun, through those and looking back I can see where I've been able to just keep moving forward. I believe in God and feel that He has never left me alone, though at times I wanted to be. I am a Mormon because there are things that I want in life that I feel I won't be able to make happen without His help. I also believe that God knows my abilities and potential better and completely such that if I am willing to work on myself, He's willing to give me a push when I lose strength, or the peace I need when I lose heart. I'm a Mormon because I believe I can become a person who is blessed with character and able to do good in this world. I believe that I can become a person who can help others in ways almost no other person can because God will help me to be able to reach them. It wouldn't be my doing. Really. But I'd be able to be the doer of the help that people specifically need. Then, I would hope they'd recognize that God loved them too, to send them someone who could reach them. I believe that all of this wouldn't be possible if I were able to be in constant communion with God through the Gift of the Holy Ghost. That is what I believe is a big part of my mission in life. There are so many things that I have yet to learn and fully come to understand in my heart but I have a testimony that He will help me as a patient, kind parent does; Helping their child to learn and grow as a person. I believe that everyone can have this kind of relationship with God and come closer to becoming the person they have the potential to become; a person of character who can make a positive difference in this world with everything they do.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing what little things I can to help others. I always look for someone to hold the door for when I'm going in anywhere. I try to understand how people are feeling so that if there's anything that I can do to encourage my friends and acquaintances in the things their doing, I can do it. I believe that one of the best ways I live my faith is by trying to help others. I enjoy listening to others and helping them, encouraging them in the things that are important in their lives. I also live my faith by taking time to try to be the person who I'd like to be; A responsible, kind, honest, dependable, and diligent person. I know that if I don't let myself be too busy and take the time to do things right, I will be able to become that person. I also live my faith by striving to do anything that I notice needs to be done. Whether it is for church or for my daily life, I like being someone who contributes to the life of others and helps to get good things done. if there's something I can do to make something good happen, I want to know what it is. I live my faith by doing those things in my life that will help me be more prepared for my future. I believe it's part of what God expects of me for me to be striving to someday get married and start a family. I believe this is best done by seeking to become able to do a good job in a profession which is both honorable and demanding. I expect to work to earn my living and feel that God approves of the effort that that living requires, the effort to be self-sufficient and capable. I also believe that being a capable person, Living my faith, comes from contributing to the success of the Mormon Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I believe it's that same thing as doing my part as a member of a family to help others and the whole to achieve the goal of becoming more like our Heavenly Father (God). That is why I serve on Sunday by setting up and blessing or passing the sacrament.
