Hi I'm Mikayla!

I am currently serving a full time mission in Frankfurt Germany and loving every second of it!

About Me

Before I decided to serve my mission, I was BYU Idaho student, a kids dental office worker, a peanut butter obsessor, a devoted babysitter, a Sunday school teacher, a record collector, a disco dance jam raffle winner, a laundry detergent sniffer, a wedding video stalker and a Texan. But I gave all that up and put my Texas/Idaho life on hold to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and teach people just like you about what we believe in full time. And I'll tell you what, I have never been happier.

Why I am a Mormon

One thing I have learned from moving is that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the same everywhere I go. Every time I move, I know that the church will welcome me with open arms and teach the same doctrines. This church brings me so much joy. I can’t help but smile because I know the truth and am willing to live it. I choose to be Mormon. Although I have grown up with these teachings my entire life, I get to choose for myself whether or not I want to live them. I am not perfect. I believe that Christ suffered for us and because of the Atonement I can repent when I make mistakes. I can pray to God when I need help and he answers my prayers. He brings me strength in my greatest times of need. I don't know where I would be without these teachings in my life. It gives me so much direction and brings me the ultimate joy.

How I live my faith

Why would I want to leave everything behind for a year and a half? The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. So true. I can't even begin to tell you how much joy it brings to me and my family! Through daily scripture study, personal prayer and living the commandments I have grown to know for myself that this is the only completely true church. Because of that I want to share my beliefs. I want other people to KNOW for themselves that this is true. I can teach all I want but until you act on it and live it you will never know for yourself! I challenge you to try it. Try out the Book of Mormon and see if it's true. Don't take my word for it, read it. Try out praying for answers you need. Try out going to church every Sunday. Try out living the commandments. I know that if you do this with an open heart you too can feel the same joy that I am feeling and the same joy I am teaching to the people of Frankfurt Germany! Live it. If you want to hear more about how I live my faith daily, you can visit my mission blog. (mikaylamissionbound.blogspot.com) My weekly letters are posted on there and you can see the ups and downs of my life and how the truth of the Church and its teachings has strengthened my life as I live it.
