Hi I'm Brandon

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy the outdoors and being with my wife and daughter. I also enjoy making stained and leaded glass artwork and dancing.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church but I have always appreciated how the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has emphasized the that one cannot depend on another's beliefs. Everyone must gain a testimony of Christ's Gospel for him/herself. I have done this through study and prayer and have felt the Holy Spirit tell me that God lives, that Jesus is the Christ, and that what I have been taught is His Gospel. One of the doctrines that I especially value is that families are eternal. If I follow Christ's teachings His atonement will allow my family to remain together for eternity. This is more than a nice sentiment that people hope for. My marriage is not just for this life because the person who married us had authority to marry us for eternity. Because of our eternal marriage our daughter and future children will also be with us in an eternal family. This is an amazing principle! Most believe that marriage ends at death (and so, by extension the family), but Jesus Christ made it possible for me to be with my family for eternity!

How I live my faith

One of my responsibilities is to visit the homes of others in the Church to befriend them and have spiritual discussions. I recently served as a Boy Scout leader and helped the boys with their rank advancements and in becoming better citizens.

What is the priesthood?

The priesthood is the authority God gives to man to do his work. In the New Testament Christ gave His authority to men to baptize, give the Gift of the Holy Ghost, heal the sick, and perform other ordinances in His Church. That authority is the priesthood. I have been given the priesthood and have used it to bless others. It is an awesome experience to perform an ordinance or to bless the sick in the name of Christ. I am not a bishop or leader of a congregation, but Christ allows all men who follow His teachings to have the priesthood. Now that I am married and have a child it is especially meaningful to have the ability to bless my family. Show more Show less
