Hi I'm Summer

I grew up in the west. I run in the mountains. I love traveling the world. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy hiking, running, yoga, dancing and am passionate about an active lifestyle. I am trying to be a better writer and photographer. And, I love traveling and experiencing the diverse world that we live in. I'm not married and don't have children...yes, we do exist (even in our early 30's). I was born in the midwest and have lived in the west most of my life. The mountains are my favorite refuge. I have three brothers who are not only my precious family but also some of my best friends. I'm obsessed with two nieces whom I love to spoil.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ provides a blueprint for happiness, a Plan of Happiness. Even though life is filled with difficulties and challenges, it is comforting to know that I have a loving Father in Heaven who knows me personally, cares about me and has a plan for me. Through Jesus Christ's Atoning sacrifice, He understands and knows our pain, hurt and challenges that we face. Through his resurrection, we know that He lives and we, too, can live with our Heavenly Father once again. Heavenly Father provided the Gift of the Holy Ghost, who provides insight, guidance, comfort, strength, knowledge, answers if we just ask, live worthily and are open to the gift of personal revelation. I know that families can be together forever and I live my life with that goal that I will be able to be with them, not just during my life here but afterwards. I know that we have a Prophet here on earth, President Thomas S. Monson, who provides guidance and revelation for us, today. And, he follows a line of modern-day prophets, beginning with Prophet Joseph Smith who restored the Lord's true church on the earth today. I am forever grateful for the faith, courage, persistence, determination, integrity of Joseph Smith. He translated the Lord's words and delivered The Book of Mormon for us to accompany the Bible to teach us about the Lord's people in ancient times, provide instruction, answers to our prayers and blueprint for our life.

How I live my faith

I'm blessed with the opportunity to preside over the Primary (children's group aged 18 months - 11 years old). They teach me so much about being humble, child-like, honest, excited about learning and being good. Heavenly Father loves his little children and I receive glimpses of this love on a weekly basis. Also, I am a visiting teacher which means that I have the opportunity to visit, serve, develop a unique friendship with two women in my ward. Service gives me great perspective and opportunities for significant growth.
