Hi I'm Steve

I'm from Orange county, CA. I grew up in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am a Christian and I am a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Steve. Orange county California is where life began for me. I now live in the beautiful northwest and have been here for almost 25 years. I have been married for 40+ wonderful and eventful years. I have a great family of 9 children, 7 daughters and 2 sons. All are married and there are currently 32 grandchildren with 18 granddaughters and 14 grandsons, and I emphasize ‘grand’ because they are. They are the joy of my life. I worked in the aerospace industry for over 30 years. I am now sort of retired from the Boeing company. About 7 years ago I was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrigs) disease, and had to go on disability about 4 years ago. At first this was difficult to accept, but blessings have come to me that would not otherwise be. There has been such an outpouring of love and service on my behalf that it has shown me what is really important. Each day is a gift through the grace of God. Life is precious and time is limited for all of us to ‘prepare to meet God’. My relationship with Him is, I know He loves me and gives me strength knowledge and love through life’s trials. What I enjoy most is visiting with my family and friends by phone or personal visits. My children live in Utah, Washington, Oregon and California so I have opportunity to travel to see them. God created a beautiful world for us and I enjoy gazing on it as I travel and from my home. From my bed I look into a gorgeous forest of cedars, firs, ferns.

Why I am a Mormon

From my childhood, I have always felt there is a loving Heavenly Father up there looking over me. My mother and her mother where converts. Mom shared her story of conversion with me at a young age. I have never doubted her testimony and that she always told the truth. I believed with a child like trust in my parents faith in Jesus Christ. Dad would share some of his missionary experiences in Argentina. I always wanted to serve a mission for Christ like he did. When I was turning into a teenager, I had all these aspirations in playing sports and joining the air-force and becoming a pilot. Then I became sick and was diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes. In those days diabetes was considered a really bad thing to have and all of my aspirations evaporated. I was almost comatose when my dad gave me a priesthood blessing and promised me I would live a long productive life as I was faithful to Jesus Christ. That is the time of my life I began to really believe for myself that Jesus does love me and he had and still does have a plan for me to be able to come back to Him and Heavenly Father. I love my Savior and Heavenly Father and know by the power of the Holy Ghost that they live and Joseph Smith was an eye witness of their reality and was called of Them to be the prophet of the restoration. It is really true. AND THAT IS WHY I'M A MORMON!

How I live my faith

Being a 'Mormon' is a 24/7 commitment for me. Since my youth I have been 100% attender (except for sicknesses) to my Church meetings, never turned down a calling to serve in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I served a full time mission when I turned 19 in upstate New York for two years. This experience was wonderful and began to fill my life with opportunities to serve and love our Heavenly Fathers children I met my eternal companion at BYU some 40+ years ago. We enjoy our 9 children and many grandchildren while serving faithfully in Church. Some of my callings included being a Bishop, serving on High councils, youth leadership, teaching and clerking. Helping people to live more Christ like lives has been one of my greatest joys in life. I see true joy and happiness come to them as they strive to be like Jesus Christ. I live my faith by dedicating my life to serve, and love with a Christ like love of all of Heavenly Father's children. I strive to keep all the commandments and covenants I have made with God. I love to go to the Temple regularly and fill especially close to Him. When I bear by testimony of Jesus Christ, I fell warm inside to know He is the Savior of all mankind and He is my friend and Atoned for me. He Lives!
