Hi I'm Sam

I'm that girl who may talk a little too much, always has a smile on her face, and laughs at ridiculous things! I'm a Mormon :)

About Me

I am originally from Colorado, but I grew up in Kansas. I'm attending college in Idaho, where I am studying Mass Communications. I like to think I'm a pretty chill person, but I can be a little bit to enthusiastic at time. I am always trying to make people laugh. I love playing sports, especially volleyball. I love spending all of my free time with family and friends. My family is pretty much my rock! I have not always been Mormon. After my family relocated to Iowa, the missionaries began teaching us and I made the decision to follow the Lord and be baptized in 2009 at age 19. Let's just say it was the best decision I have ever made!! :)

Why I am a Mormon

Before the Gospel was brought into my life, I was never really one to embrace religion in all aspects of my life. When I was introduced to the Gospel, it answered so many questions I had about God,life, and so many other things. I had to sincerely pray, to find for myself the truthfulness of The Book of Mormon, and the Gospel of this Church. After I sincerely prayed, It was impossible to deny the things the Lord told my heart, and I knew the Gospel was the truth. The Gospel helped me to understand Heavenly Father's plan for us, his children. Knowing the Gospel has allowed me to know the love Christ has for all of us. Becoming aware of that love, has helped me endure my trials. One of the most difficult things I've had to experience, is losing loved ones. Last year I lost my step-father to an automobile accident, and my grandmother to health problems. The Gospel helped me through those trials, I was able to understand death and accepting it was no longer a difficult task, because I knew that families can be together.. forever. Knowing the Gospel has made my burdens lighter, and helped me to understand that we must endure through the end. All of us experience trials, but knowing the Gospel makes the journey through those trials less lonely, and allow us to become aware of the tender mercies of the Lord in those trials. By discovering the truthfulness of this Gospel for myself, I have been able to fill that empty hole in my heart, and recognize the Lord's love for me giving me a new outlook on life, and a new-found happiness.

How I live my faith

I try to let my life be a reflection of my faith and what I believe in. I live my faith by living by Gospel Standards. Whenever I am called to serve in the the church, serving those callings faithfully and diligently is one way I live my faith. I live my faith by following commandments to not drink, not smoke, read my scriptures, praying, etc. I live my life in harmony with the Gospel standards. I try to follow the path of Christ-the Savior in all that I do. I'm not perfect so I struggle from time to time, but learning to endure to the end is a part of living my faith.
