Hi I'm Katie

I grew up in Chandler Arizona. I come from a family of ten and I love to cook.

About Me

I am currently serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Chicago, IL. I love learning new things, especially anything about food. I graduated from Johnson and Wales Universtiy. Being the youngest of a large family, I would look up to my older siblings for guidance. Life isn't always perfect but I know that when you are relying on the the hand of the Lord anything is possible.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up Mormon. I struggled with the gospel when I was a young teenager. I didn't want anything to do with the Church. It wasn't until we moved to a new city and my young women leaders gave me a Book of Mormon and challenged me to read it. Once I started reading it, I felt peace and happiness that I had never felt before. I began to pray that I would know that His church was the True church. I knew while I was on my knees that His church was the only True church. It felt as if Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ themselves were in my room with me. I had a deep burning within my heart. From that moment on I knew that I would never be alone in the many struggles that I would face in my life ahead. While I was in a culinary competition, the night before my father had given me a fathers blessing. In it, he blessed that I would be able to compete and have peace of mind, he also said "that your hands may become hers". I feel greatly humbled remembering those words. My hands were not mine that day, but Heavenly Fathers. HE was helping me, so I would be able to do his will in my life. I am a Mormon because I love how I have changed throughout the years, and because I know that it is through our loving Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ that we can all have eternal families and live together again after this life is over. How great a gift to have familys for eternity! I am a Mormon and will shout it to the nations!

How I live my faith

I go to church on Sundays as well as Monday evenings to participate in ward activities. We have service activities such as cleaning parks, sewing blankets for soldiers etc. "For when ye are in the service of others, ye are in the service of your Lord".
