Hi I'm Joyce

I'm a mother of four and grandmother of 9. I love fly fishing, food, being with my family, and interior design. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mother of four children that are grown and now have children of their own. I happen to love interior design and enjoy creating beautiful spaces. I feel as though I have lived a "charmed" life rich in travel, unique experiences, and challenges that have shaped who I am today. I love beautiful scenery, fly-fishing, quilting, and reading a good book. I'm married to my high school sweetheart and can't imagine life without him. I also love a good donut or two.

Why I am a Mormon

Life is difficult and is intended to be. The gospel of Jesus Christ gives me perspective and helps me understand why it is necessary to go through challenges. I'm grateful that I know that there is a loving God who loves each of us perfectly and knows what is best for me. I'm grateful that He knows what challenges are necessary to make me strong. I have come to know that if I am to be with Him eternally, I have to come to know Him by humbling myself and relying on Him to see me through those difficulties. I know that His son Jesus Christ suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the cross and then rose again on the third day so that I might be able to return to them. I believe that there is so much more than this life has to offer. The gospel of Jesus Christ teaches me how to live and conduct my life so that I can be worthy of being in God's presence one day. The gospel makes me happy and gives me hope and assurance. I can't imagine living any other way.

How I live my faith

My husband and I returned one year ago from serving a three year mission in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where we supervised approximately 350 young men and women as missionaries of the LDS church. This experience was certainly one of the highlights of my life. Working with such extraordinary young people gave me confidence for our future. They are smart, faithful, hard working, and enthusiastic in doing what is right. They were eager to share their faith in God and His plan of happiness to others so that they too could feel God's love for them. I currently teach young women ages 16 to 18 each Sunday principles and lessons from the scriptures. Also by assignment I visit three women each month to discuss the gospel and to see how they are doing. Our grown children and their spouses face many challenges of their own. I often find myself on my knees asking God to help them, bless them, and inspire them. Remember, life is difficult.
