Hi I'm Nick

I grew up in rural Arizona. I even rode a horse to school for a time. Taught school for a while. Retired now. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am enjoying being retired, especially with the grandchildren. It seems like we waited a long time for them. I am married and have 4 great kids. Right now I am trying to get a book published that will perhaps allow my wife and I to do a little traveling. We got to go to Italy, Switzerlnd, and England a few years ago and that was great fun. Some years later we had the opportunity to visit the Holy Land. It was amazing. I enjoy gardening and a little woodworking, mostly simple stuff. We planted lots of citrus and apple trees when we moved to this home and are now reaping the benefits, so much benefit that we can share with family and neighbors.

Why I am a Mormon

Why I am a Mormon can be summed up in one word: "happiness". I believe that the ultimate goal of everything we do is so that we can be happy, even when it may cause temporary sacrafice, or hardship. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints helps me to be happy. I am happy when I see others who perhaps I have helped with a little service. I am happy when I am able to associate with my family and see that they are successful and happy. I am happy that I have a Heavenly Father and a Savior who want me to be happy, are aware of me and my family, and have made it possible that perhaps I, with my family, can return.

How I live my faith

I served a 2 year mission in the great lakes area early in my life, and now serve in various assignments in the church, the most recent being in the adult leadership of a young single adult ward, ages 21 to 30. Now that was an experiece. I have sung with several different church and community choral organizations. I attend my church meetings regularly and visit a few families on a monthly basis to check on them to see if I or others in the church can be of service to them. I try to read the scriptures and other good books regularly, have my personal prayers, and be with my family often. I try to be of service to my family, friends and neighbors.
