Hi I'm Kerry

I love life, I love learning, I love my family, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

More than anything in the world, I value family relationships. I believe that life is about making memories with the ones you love. Although not all memories are perfect, the imperfect ones often make for good laugh later. I love to spend my time gardening, journaling, being together with friends and family, riding my bike, and learning. My favorite season is Fall and I absolutely love to see the leaves change color (when I'm not is Arizona, of course). If there was one thing I have found most important in life, it is to be grateful because when our heart is full of gratitude, we are able to see our lives more clearly without focusing on the deficits but rather the blessings.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I choose to be a Mormon. As a child I had opportunities to learn of other faiths and to participate in other religious services. One Sunday in our youth class at church, we were singing the song, "Love One Another", a familiar children's song in the Mormon church. I became emotional, even at such a young age, as my heart was touched and I knew without a question that I God loved me and wants me to share His love with others. My life is richly blessed with so many wonderful people ~ friends, work associates, and above all my family. This knowledge of a loving God hasn't changed. I know that God listens to my prayers and blesses my life as He sees best. I know that God knows me by name. I know that He loves us and that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to atone for our sins. I know our Savior died on the cross for us - you and me, so that we can again live with both He and God when we are done with this life. I know that God, our Heavenly Father, desires for each of his children to return to Him again someday. And wouldn't that be so worth all we have to work through in this life, knowing that is our reward? That gives me hope - hope in today, tomorrow, and in the life to come.

How I live my faith

I believe it is important not only to attend church on Sunday, but to live its teachings everyday. I know that I am not perfect, but I feel I'm giving it my best. One of my responsibilities is to help in the planning of monthly meetings to support the women in our church by giving them opportunities to learn skills for self-improvement, hot to better strengthen their family relationships, and to increase their spirituality. I love that we truly love and support one another in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! I am also on a committee that provides support and activities for single parents and their children. I understand that life is more than busy, and it is difficult finding time to have fun. Our singles program provides opportunities for parents to bring their children to various activities so that both parents and children can meet others in similar circumstances and feel supported as they try to conquer some of the issues and challenges that come from being a single parent. As a mother I am so grateful to be a Mormon because the teachings in our church provide roadmaps for myself and my children. I know that I am not alone in raising my children as I know without doubt, that a loving God is by my side always. He loves me and He loves my children. This God, our Father in Heaven, has provided us with opportunities to grow and stretch so that we can better come to know Him. I cannot think of anything more painful than to be without my family. My heart is at peace knowing that after this life is over, my children and I will still know and love another, but also will be together as a family in heaven. I want to be with my family always. Death is not the end - it is only a step closer to our Father in Heaven. Thank goodness! I know that my Father in Heaven knows me by name. I know that he listens to my prayers and blesses my life as He sees best. When I trust Him and His will for me, I am happy.
