Hi I'm Kimberly

I grew up in Houston, Texas. I am a teacher by heart and the favorite thing for me to do is teach my children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am first off a Christian and have a great love for the Savior. Next I am a wife and a mother. I have been married since December of 2002 and have three children (girl, boy, girl). The majority of my time is spent with these two roles. I spend much of my time at my kiddos' school helping in the classroom and teaching them at home. I also enjoy helping organize activities with the Parent Teacher Network like Family Fun Nights. I also really enjoy real-estate. I love to look at properties and then see a vision of what those properties could become. In time I plan to get a real estate license and help others find their dream homes and see their own vision. My other joy is reading novels. Nothing relaxes me more than a book. I also like to travel and vacation. My most cherished memories are the ones created while traveling.

Why I am a Mormon

As a child and teen I went and experienced many different churches and religion, but primarily was raised baptist the little we did go to church. I remember as a teen curled up in my bed crying deeply wondering if I was worth something. I prayed to God that I would like myself. I was semi-wild in high school with the drinking and partying. Fast forward to college. I did the typical college scene of bars and dancing. I began to love country-western dancing so I took as an elective a class that teaches dancing. I became attracted to one of the instructors and ended up dating him. I became more attractive to how different of a person he was and how differently he treated me from all pass dates. After a while he introduced me to his church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My first experience was a fast and testimony meeting where I heard adults and children alike share their thoughts and feelings about the Savior and their membership in the Church. Not knowing what it was I was touched by the feelings I felt. After learning about the Plan of Salvation I knew that what I was hearing from the missionaries was truth. Knowing where I came from, why I am here, and what is in my future brought me great peace back then and continues more than 20 years later. I know that I am loved by a Heavenly Father. I know that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to be my Savior; to pay for my sins so that as I live a righteous life I can return to live with Him again. I know that my family is an eternal family; one that lasts beyond the grave. I have true joy and true happiness as I follow His plan. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ is here upon the earth and I am a member of His true Church. I am truly blessed by this knowledge.

How I live my faith

Living my faith is important to me and I do it daily through my service to my community and my church. I spend much of my time in my children's school volunteering in their classrooms each week as well as planning school-wide activities. I really enjoy helping the kids, the teachers, and the school be the best it can be in helping develop our future, our children. I also teach at a university in an associate business program. I enjoy sharing my knowledge with these 'older children' and helping them learn about business and how they are a part of that world. In my church I have done many things; many of these revolve around teaching; I enjoy teaching about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have taught the women of the Church as well as the children. I am currently working with the younger children in our church. I serve with three other ladies in planning each week's lesson, music, and principles. Our goal is that every child will develop a love for the Savior and by this will learn to love their family and others they come in contact. Service to others has been one of the great teacher for me of how to love. I strive to love and serve as the Savior loves and serves.

What is being a Mormon like?

It is pure joy. Before I was a member I thought I was happy and that I had joy. I even took a year before I joined because I didn't think I "needed" it; I was fine...happy. What I have discovered is that it was not "PURE JOY"; it was almost a fake type of happiness. I have found great peace, love, gentleness, ...JOY...real joy. I have never been happier in my life and it just continues to grow through the years. Show more Show less
