Hi I'm Sarah

I'm a life-long learner and teacher, a wife and mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am one of those people walking around that is always singing. The soundtrack to my life plays in my head. I love life and soak it all in! I like to help others enjoy life too. I recently married my eternal companion, and we have begun new adventures. We love to find ways to serve others. We love the outdoors. Like everyone, we try to rise above the obstacles of life to enjoy life more fully. It's not always easy when crazy things happen, but we have each other and God to help us on our journey. I started college wanting to be a teacher. Both of my parents were teachers. I taught my students math, but also taught them life skills to be better citizens in our community. I encourage them to dream big, to hope for a better life and how to get there with all of the obstacles in their path. I found my passion in life, teaching. The more I teach, the more I know I was born to teach. I also have enjoyed coaching many sports. It gives me an added opportunity to reach kids and help them to take on the world.

Why I am a Mormon

Sure, I grew up going to church with my family. Ever since I can remember, I would get very deep impressions or feelings that what I was being taught was truth about God and his Son, Jesus Christ. I was taught about their love for every one of God's children. I have felt their love quite often. I might not know everything pertaining to life and religion, but I do know that God, our Heavenly Father, wants the best for His children. His intentions and motives stem from His fatherly love for us. He always has his arms outstretched towards us, willing to help us and guide us back to Him. I know that He loves all of His children so much that He sent His Only Begotten Son to provide the way for anyone to be able to return home to Him. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and it is only through him, because of his infinite atonement, that everyone has the opportunity to return to live with our Heavenly Father. We are commanded to love God and to love one another. Because I believe in this, I am an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have faith that God will guide me in my choices so that I will be able to live a life that is pleasing to Him as a disciple of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Weekly I attend our worship services. I am a Sunday School teacher. My class consists of 16 year-olds who have strong beliefs and love for their Heavenly Father and His Son. I love learning about our Savior Jesus Christ and the apostles of His church. I try to help others identify the principles and doctrines of His gospel and how to apply them in their own lives. The New Testament is full of exemplary examples of faithful people following Christ and His teachings that lead us back to our Father in Heaven. I feel closer to my Savior and my Heavenly Father as I learn more about the plan that they have for us. It is a plan of happiness, one that will lead us back to them. I know that God guides us through our lives to help us to understand this plan and what we must do to return to Him. I know He answers prayers because He loves us and wants to help us. It's a matter of asking Him. I am grateful that I have the opportunity and stewardship to teach about Jesus Christ, his church, the plan of salvation, personal revelation, and other principles and doctrines of the gospel.
