Hi I'm Bernice

My greatest claim to fame is being a mother and a grandmother. I'm a widow, I love crocheting and reading. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Because I love reading, I sell used books, including rare and collectible books. Because I love crocheting, I sell baby blankets, and crocheted items for children. I am a mother of two grown children, 47 and 42. I am a grandmother of two, age16 and 15. My two grandchildren are autistic. My daughter home schools them. My son has gone back to college to get an AA and be a certified welder. Boy, am I proud of them.

Why I am a Mormon

My faith has gotten me through what seemed like insurmountable hurdles. I was a convert in my late teens. My father passed away when I was 19, but because of my faith I know he watches over me. My mother and husband were both critically ill at the same time, she from cancer, he from kidney failure. My mother passed away after four years, my husband passed away one year later. I was swamped in grief until one day I thought I heard my husband say to be that he was fine, we needed to be sealed for time and all eternity.

How I live my faith

I do work as a Family History consultant, I am chairman of the Indexing group in our ward. I crochet blankets and scarfs and hats for the children at an Indian reservation to which our ward provides service. I do visiting teaching to inactive sisters, I feel a special love for them because I know the struggles that are involved with coming back to the church after being inactive. I study my scriptures. My daughter laughingly asked my one day why we didn't get a book of instructions when we came here. I just held up my scriptures and told her we did, but like most instructions, people don't like to read them.

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

Bernice
This is one of the questions I asked when I was investigating the church. If apostles were important to the church in Jesus's time, I believe they are certainly more needed to spread his word in his church today. Jesus and Heavenly Father will not abandon us. Show more Show less
