Hi I'm Justin ( Jay ) Wortley

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Well where dose one begin. I am a simple man. I enjoy the simple things in life. Together my wife and I Garden. We enjoy being outside and being one with nature. We both work, while I am a trained child psychologist I work behind a counter at a local convenience store. I often tell folks I work to live, I don't live to work. I enjoy bring home the things my wife needs. And until the economy improves this is how it will get done. I enjoy writing! I am not the most eloquent writer. But I do write from the heart. A secret passion of mine is Big band music. I cook and love to try new things. I have done my share of traveling. Seeing the planet that was created for me has always humbled me. I enjoy the children the Lord has placed in my life. I only recently was released from a 4 year calling in the primary at church. It was a sad day but the Lord had another calling in mind. I have close to 2 dozen nieces and nephews. Ranging from 25 to 3, I am already a great Uncle of a sillyest boy ever. One of my biggest weakness is my family. I will do whatever, whenever I can for my family. Even if that means giving them back to the Lord and waiting until it is his will, I see them again!

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Let me tell you this. If I was not a Mormon I simply wouldn't know where I would be. For years my parents came and went from one town to the other. With ever bad dream my father had we ran. Years of Vietnam haunted my father. That in turn haunted the family. We came to church every now and then. not really serious about the faith. This is how I grew up and so the day came that I left home. I thought I enjoyed a life like no other. I was blessed with everything I thought I would ever want. Until one July afternoon the Lords will asserted itself. I found everything I built gone and buried. When you struggle in the dark like that, You look for any kind of light you can find. The Lord was always shining and there. Years passed and I finally put my hand in the Lords. One step at a time he has been leading me. When my heart is broken I sit with the Lord. I listen close to the Holy Ghost. I reach out broken and bruised, I fallow the words given. The true church is on the earth today. When I hear the word of god spoken from the pulpit. I know that Joseph Smith saw The father and Jesus. I am grateful for the strength of one young boy.

How I live my faith

Currently I am serving as Sunday school President. Before I was called to this calling I had thought, That Sunday school President was a no bit calling. I was wrong, before this calling I worked with the young children of our ward. 4-12 years of age. I currently serve in the cub scouts program. We never have a dull moment. Together, with my wife we coral the Bear den. In church we are called to serve in many ways. In each moment of service we are strengthened. We are brought closer to what Christ was like. We walk his path of compassion and love. It truly is amazing!
