Hi I'm Carolyn Miles

I am a wife and mother of 5 adult children, a grandmother of 7, and a triathlete. I graduated Summa Cum Laude. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, mother, and teacher. For many years I was a stay at home Mother who also taught piano lessons from my home. I have a Master's degree and achieved that while I had 4 children in college. My passion is the art of quilting. I love to do Pilates and yoga but I also walk, swim, bike, and run. Most of all I love to spend time with my family. I have a goal of visiting every continent and so far have made it to 3 and love to visit the National Parks. Recently I finished 2 triathlons, one I did with my daughter and husband. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we will do it again. I am a perpetual volunteer for a good cause. There is so much good in life and I love to find it.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the LDS church and my family have been members from the early 1800's. There is tradition in my family of being LDS but also I am a Mormon because I have a deep rooted faith in Jesus Christ as my Savior. I believe that the doctrines of the church are true and have made the conscious choice to live a life of faith. My faith brings me great happiness and joy in life. It is a force for good in everything in my life. I love being who I am and would not change it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by studying the precepts of the gospel of Jesus Christ and working to live them. I have had many great experiences in life through living my faith. I have had the opportunity to see lives changed through working with people and have had the experience of teaching many people in different areas. I have sought to bless the lives of others through serving in the church and would like more opportunities in the future. I attend my meetings on Sunday and study and pray. My heart is set on being a participant in building my faith.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Carolyn Miles
The Atonement of Jesus Christ is for everyone who has lived, does live or will live on this earth. It encompasses all of our life struggles, our joys, and our disappointments. Jesus knows how we feel because he experienced it himself through his suffering. Without the Atonement we would all have to suffer, but we don't have to because Jesus Christ did it for us. Jesus Christ was the only person who ever lived who could do this for us because he was the Son of Mary and the Son of God. If we have faith to believe, repent of our sins, are baptized and confirmed by one having priesthood authority, and receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost, then continue on through the rest of our lives to obey God's commandments and receive all the sacred ordinances of the Gospel, we can return to live with Him and our Heavenly Father.
