Hi I'm Katrina

I love Washington State, the scriptures, and my fiance.

About Me

Right now I am working at a near by hospital as a Distribution Specialist. Which basically entitles walking a half marathon a day (11 miles), delivering and inventoring supply closets through out the large hospital. I love what I do. I love that where I work is on a hill, located by beautiful evergreen trees, Mt. Rainer, and the harbor. When not working I love to wakeboard on the lake and also swim. I love to surf the snow by snowboarding and baking sweets.

Why I am a Mormon

Like some Mormons, both my parents are mormon. This does not make me feel I have to go to church or live like them though. As you know we make our own decisions. Our parents do influence our decisions and our lives. I know this church is for me for one reason. I am a child of God. You are a child of God too. We are brothers and sisters. We belong in Christ's Church. Heavenly Father doesn't want us to be confused in life. He loves us. Like it states in the Bible-Ephesians chapter 4 verse 5 "One Lord, one faith, one baptism," Christ established His church when He was on the earth and called apostles to lead it. Many did not like Christ or His apostles and thus they were killed. There was great confusion as a result. Who should lead the church? Who has the authority to baptize? What does one faith mean? We have so many churches today, how can you know what one is true? Are the scriptures even translated into english correctly? Out of love, God once again, as in times of old, as he always had, called a prophet. God is unchanging. He never says from time frame X to time frame Y get a prophet but after that I will no longer call one. God loves all of us. What a blessing it is we have a prophet to lead and guide us just as in times of old. I know the bible is truth, and the Book of Mormon is too. Both are the word of God. Both are the writings of prophets who lived anciently. Both show how mericful God is and the love Christ has for each of us.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by day to day, each day a building block for the next. I love to pray. One of the 12 apostles, Boyd K Packer has said, "One of the adversary’s sharpest tools is to convince us that we are no longer worthy to pray. No matter who you are or what you may have done, you can always pray." Praying is such a privilege. We have the opportunity to speak directly to our Father in Heaven. He loves to listen to us. He does so much for us. He gives us comfort when we are scared, lonely, or sad. I like to think as it as hugs from Heaven from my Father to me. He even speaks to us through the prophet of today and anciently through the scriptures. I love to read the scriptures. It is like a Narnia for me. What adventure and stories are found in them. How I can liken them to myself. The sacrifice of Christ and all the righteous children of God are found in them. I love to read the Book of Mormon and the Bible every day.

What is the Book of Mormon?

There a few misconceptions regarding this book of mormon. Here are a few: 1. Joseph Smith wrote it." False. He translated it. The Book of Mormon is written about 600 BC to about 400 AD. It is the writing of the prophets who lived in the Americas. We know 100% that people lived there. They are the native american indians. The Book of Mormon tells us how these people got there, why and what they learned of Christ. Like the Bible, we can liken their lives to ours. The prophets speak the words of God. God is unchanging. 2. The Book of Mormon is about a guy named Mormon." False. It has many books within in. In the Bible there is lots of books. Book of James, Matthew, Isaiah, etc. The Book of Mormon has books such as the book of Nephi, Enos, Alma, etc. 3. All you need is the Bible." False. If the Bible was the beginning of time to when it ends it would not be merely 3 inches of paper. Not all the prophets who ever lived is in the Bible. For instance, where is the book of Abraham and Moses? In the Book of Mormon it tells us, "Know ye not that there are more nations than one? Know ye not that I, the Lord your God, have created all men, and that I remember those who are upon the isles of the sea; and that I rule in the heavens above and in the earth beneath; and I bring forth my word unto the children of men, yea, even upon all the nations of the earth?" (2 Nephi 29:7) He loves us all not just in the east (the bible) but also in the west (the Book of Mormon) Show more Show less
