Hi I'm Brook

I am a father to five adorable and active children. I examine eyes during the week and hike on the week ends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to my high school sweet heart. We have five very busy children that make life fun, interesting, and meaningful. I love exploring the outdoors particulary hiking and camping. A hobby of mine that people may not know is bird watching. The stresses of life melt away for me when I am in God's beautiful creations.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, because it gives me direction and hope in my chaotic life. For me it is a true anchor that will never change. I know what my Father in Heaven expects of me. I know that keeping his commandments brings happiness and great joy to me and my family. Family is important to me and the church teaches important truths about the family. Through temple ordainances, I am married to my sweet companion for eternity and that with our children we can be together forever. I am grateful for this truth. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He spoke to prophets of old and gratefully today he again speaks to prophets in our day. This knowledge gives me comfort that our Heavenly Father loves his children today as he did in biblical times.

How I live my faith

As an optometrist I visit with people not of my faith everyday. I enjoy talking with them and getting to know them and their families. In my office I have my diploma from BYU and pictures of my family hanging on the wall. Envitably, people will comment on the pictures or the diploma. Through these I have an opprotunity to share with them that I am a member of the church and this is who I am and what is important to me. As a family we attend church on Sunday for three hours. It seems like a long time, but it goes by quickly. I currently serve in a leadership position in the church where I plan church meetings and teach lessons. Though it takes a lot of time, I am grateful to be of service to others. We have family night every monday evening where we play games and try to squeeze in a gospel discusion. Each day we pray as a family morning and night with some days being more consistant then others.
