Hi I'm Becca

I have sixteen siblings, I have been a contestant on Wheel of Fortune, I love Australia and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the third oldest of seventeen children. Ten of my siblings are adopted from three different countries and five have various special needs. We are very eclectic in that we all come in all sorts of shapes and sizes with various personalities to match. My family is a huge part of who I am and have taught me more about life than I could have learned elsewhere. We are not perfect but love and support each other through the thick and thin. It is immensely because of them that I have completed my Master’s Degree in Special Education. I have an explorative personality and have lived in four different countries thus far in my life. I call the United States of America home as I grew up here yet when younger, my family (of only seven back then) lived in South Korea. I will forever treasure my time, education and growth there. Later, as a student at Brigham Young University, I had the opportunity to participate in a semester long study abroad in New Zealand. I was immensely blessed to teach in the schools there and grew to love the people immeasurably. A year later, I served for a year and a half as a full-time Mormon missionary in Australia. What an indescribable experience that was! Each country, each experience, each lesson I have learned has been so influential and such a blessing in my life. I love teaching, learning, serving, smiling, laughing and am known as the master of remembering birthdays! I enjoy making sure people feel they are loved, included and never forgotten.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints blesses my life immensely. I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true and by living its teachings daily, trusting in the Lord, I am able to get through all life's experiences with His help. I know that I have a loving Heavenly Father who knows and loves me personally. I know He listens to my prayers no matter how small or seemingly insignificant they may seem. I know He answers in His own time and His own way. I know He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to accomplish the atonement. I am so grateful for Christ and all He has done and continues to do. He lives! I know that for a surety. I have no doubt that there a prophet on the Earth today. He and the apostles are called of God and serve whole-heartedly. How grateful I am that we are led by a prophet and apostles just as in times of old. I love them! I am always thrilled to hear what they have to say and listen intently on what I need to do to improve my life. I know the scriptures are true. I love reading them! They truly bring happiness in my life. I know that answers, peace, strength and comfort are found within their pages. I know the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and a testimony of it is gained by reading and praying to know of its truthfulness. The scriptures truly contain the word of God and I know they answer my heart-felt questions and alleviate the pain I feel as I go through the trials of life. I am so grateful for the knowledge I have that we will live after this life. We will live with our Heavenly Father, Savior Jesus Christ and our families. Words cannot describe what it means to me to know that because of Christ and His atonement, He has provided a way for us to be resurrected and return to live eternally. Because of the resurrection, not only will I be reunited with my loved ones who have passed away but my siblings who have various special needs will be able to walk and talk, see and hear. How glorious indeed!

How I live my faith

We live in a world of shifting values. This is no secret. We are bombarded on all sides by influences that if fallen subject to, can destroy our lives and the lives of those we love. Anything that could divert us from Christ, from hope, from happiness, and from the knowledge of our infinite worth and divine nature is out there in so many forms. It has been my decision to live my faith in such a way that I strive to steer completely clear from anything that could even potentially degrade. Because filth is so prevalent and can be disguised in multitudinous ways, I have to be very selective in what songs I will listen to, what movies and television shows I will watch, what books I will read, what conversations and activities I take part in, how I spend my time and how I respect my body. Though my decisions and my choices are ridiculed betimes, I know that what may seem “limiting” really truly is freeing to me as I am honestly happy living the standards the Lord has set. Living the gospel of Jesus Christ really truly brings me so much joy! Because I feel of the happiness and blessings that come from being in church, I attend weekly. Because I know the strength and guidance that comes through reading the scriptures, I search and ponder them daily. Because I know of the comfort and peace that comes through prayer, I call upon my Heavenly Father always. Because I know of the needed humility that comes in and through serving others, I am blessed with opportunities constantly. And because I know how much bliss comes through living and doing these and other commandments, I share my enthusiasm and testimony continuously. There really is good, clean, fun and entertainment out there if it is sought for. Additionally, going to church, attending the temple, reading scriptures, saying prayers, paying tithing and serving others makes life is so enjoyable and happiness truly does abound in my life.
