Hi I'm Brandon

I'm a father of 6. I enjoy hiking and cross-country skiing with my family and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a dentist and I really do enjoy working on people's teeth. I am passionate about helping people get out of pain, and I get joy out of creating beautiful smiles. With 6 kids, I am focused on teaching each of them to become responsible, compassionate adults. All of their activities keeps our days full. I savor the opportunities we have to get out as a family and hike, camp, go to the science center, the museum of flight, or the beach. We all love learning about animals and plants. My favorite is to see my kids so engrossed in learning that they start acting it out or playing imaginary games. I compete in a few events each year: running, biking, cross-country skiing, swimming. Sometimes a multisport event.

Why I am a Mormon

As I read the scriptures, particularly the books that describe the actual events of Christ's life, I personally felt an overwhelming feeling of love and compassion. I felt his love for me as I read how He healed the sick and the lame. Since those earlier days in my life, I have also seen such light and hope come into people's lives as they come to know Jesus Christ and begin to live as He would have us live. It brings such great joy to help others. The teachings and doctrines in the LDS church helped me grow close to the Savior. They help me raise a righteous family. I know the strictness of the teachings has also helped me avoid the pitfalls and mistakes that many in the world get caught in. It helps me follow Christ's example. This church also has the same authority that ancient prophets had. That authority has been restored to the earth. My wife and I were married in a temple by someone having the authority to perform the wedding, not just til death do us part, but forever. I know that my family can be together forever. What a great joy and blessing that is to have in my life

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being a devoted husband, raising a righteous family, and by serving others. Right now I am serving as Bishop of a small congregation; it is called a "ward". There is no paid clergy, so all of the work is done by the members. This gives everyone an opportunity to help others and to feel needed. As Bishop, I am responsible for the spiritual and temporal welfare of those that live in the boundary of the congregation. I, with the help of others and inspiration of the Holy Spirit, organize staffing, meeting schedules, activities, Young Men groups, Young Women groups, Primary, general fellowship, Welfare, Service, Caring for the poor and needy, and supporting families in their efforts to follow our Savior. My efforts in doing this most recent responsibility in the church has been rich with blessings. As I serve others, I see how the Lord touches people's lives through the lives of others. I have learned that Heavenly Father is aware of each of our circumstances, He loves each one of us. He sent His Son Jesus Christ to atone for our sins, so that through repentance and forgiveness we can return to live with Him someday.
