Hi I'm Cassy Taylor

I am the eldest child of a big family. I am a wife and a mother of 3. I love to make and decorate cakes. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Being the mother of 3 darling children, is the best thing I've ever done. I am grateful everyday for this blessing of motherhood I've been given. I know it is not given to everyone as easily. When I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease as a teenager, I didn't think I would have the opportunity to bring children into the world. Thankfully, I thought wrong. Along with the daily tasks of chasing after kids (and a husband), I also work part-time for a roofing company. As a hobby, I make a design cakes which has helped bring in a little income. I think usually hobbies cost a lot of money-my husband is grateful for the one I chose! :) A few final things I love: Music and dancing (which I am no good at either), traveling, volleyball and softball, cooking, eating at restaurants, and spending time with friends and family!

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were sealed in the temple when I was about 5 years old. I was blessed to be there with 2 of my brothers to be sealed to them for now and forever. I grew up then learning and living the Gospel the way my parents did. It wasn't until I was in Young Women's that I truly understood what I was doing and why I was doing it. I had amazing leader's and friends that taught me so much. Since then, I have had far too many experiences to doubt that what I have learned is the truth. That God is my Father. That Jesus Christ is His son and my Savior. That because of him, I can have a body, repent, have an eternal family, and return to Him someday. This life is not easy. I have felt my fair share of pain but I know as I strive my hardest to obey the commandments and live worthily, I will receive all of the blessings I have been promised. I am grateful for these things that I know that help me get through everyday and also help me teach my children how to be good people. I love this Gospel with my whole heart. I know this may sound cliche but I really don't know what I would do without it.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday. I hate to miss church. If I ever miss, I feel like I've cheated myself and my children from feeling the spirit and learning from our friends. I have three callings that I do my best with. One is I help Cub Scouts with the Faith in God program. I do a quarterly FIG night to help the boys achieve their goals. My second calling is with the women. I help a committee put together activities every month for the women to participate in. There is usually a spiritual message but I love getting away from the kids to have a fun time with women who share my beliefs. It forces me to be social which I was not raised that way! Ha! My last calling is I am a visiting teacher which means I visit 2-3 women each month with a partner and we share a spiritual message and find out if there is anything we can do to help the woman we are visiting. I have made many friends through this and I love it! Lastly, I pray everyday and try hard to read my scriptures.
