Hi I'm Holly

I'm a wife, a mom, a grandma and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Wife, a mother of four, a step-mother of 4, and I have 3 grandchildren. I love to travel and see new places in and outside of the United States, especially with my husband. I love to meet new people. There are just so many wonderful people out there to meet. I like to read books...mostly non-fiction because I love to learn. I want to know about people, cultures, history, and attitudes. I enjoy learning about my ancestors...where they lived and what their life was like. I dabble at piano and I dabble at cooking. Right now, I am trying to learn Spanish. It is so hard to learn a new language! But the thing I like best is to spend time with my family. Most of them live a long ways away, but I enjoy being with them the most.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints my whole life. From a young child and through the years I've learned that when I've needed something My Heavenly Father was always there. As I went through baptism and attended church and listened to the Prophet speak I have felt promptings and answers to prayers through the Holy Ghost. I have sought truth in the scriptures and have been taught by the words within the pages of the Old & New Testaments, The Book of Mormon, the Doctrine & Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price. The blessings I've received have been invaluable in keeping me grounded, in keeping me happy, and in helping those around me.

How I live my faith

When my children were young I was active in the Scouting Program. I volunteered as a commissioner and trained the trainers. I've participated in school and church activities as they've grown up. Now I work with the women's group in our church. I help organize activities. I visit and help assess the needs of others. I love to work with people. I live my faith by helping others. There is always someone who needs help...sometimes it is family, sometimes it is friends, and sometimes it is people I don't know. I live my faith by trying to improve myself bit by bit. There are many things I can improve upon in my personality so I set goals so that I can be the best I can be. I live my faith by recognizing that no one here in this life is perfect, including me. So I love people for who they are not by their mistakes. I live my faith by following the Prophet's council, by reading the scriptures, and by praying daily. I want so much for our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost to be part of my life. In this way, I can help myself, my family, and others in the way the Lord would want me to. I live my faith by researching my ancestors so that they will have the opportunity to be baptised and sealed to their families. I live my faith by going to the temple to act as proxy for them, thus I can provide this service for them. I live my faith by accepting new assignments in the church, wherever I am needed. I have grown and learned so much by doing this. I have taught the young children, the youth, and adults. I have taught courses on Marriage so that families can stay together. I have sang in choirs, led the music, planned activities, and even sewn pajamas for the youth. There is always something to be done. I'm glad that I have the blessing of helping to make things happen.
