Hi I'm Emily

I am a daughter, a student, a sister, a friend, an instrumentalist, and a community service worker.Most importantly, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Emily Jex. I am the baby of my family. All my siblings are married and on their way to making their own families. I am a student at BYU trying to find my way among others who desire the same. I served a church service mission in Nauvoo, playing in the Nauvoo Brass Band. I love music and being a part of a group who is so dedicated to wanting to do what is right. I hope to begin my own family one day, but for now I am working on a degree in Communication Disorders. And guess what? I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know it, I live it, and I love it. I am a Mormon because my ancestors made the choice to be baptized and raise their children in the gospel. They believed it was true and they sacrificed so much for the gospel. I am a Mormon because my parents raised me to believe in God, to believe in Jesus Christ as the Savior of the World, and to know that I am loved by them. I am a Mormon because I wanted to be a part of a church that I knew for myself was the true church. I know with all my heart that this is the true and restored church of Jesus Christ. I know that through revelation and inspiration the truth came to a young boy of 14 who asked a simple question. If you have a question, don't be afraid to ask. Pray, and trust that the Lord will hear and answer your prayers. He has done it for me again and again, and I know He will do it many times in the future.

How I live my faith

Each day is a new opportunity to be better, to do better, and to help others do the same. I know that I am not put on this Earth to help myself only, but I have been blessed with gifts that are meant to uplift and help those around me. I live my faith by serving others and loving unconditionally, as difficult as that may be, I know that if I do then the Lord will help me. I attend Brigham Young University which provides me with people who believe the same as me, who strive to keep their standards high and that helps me to do the same. I feel supported and loved. I live my faith by remembering that I am a daughter of God who is loved so sincerely that my elder brother suffered for me and my sins and pains. I know that He did it because He wanted me to return to be with Him again. I am eternally grateful for Him and His sacrifice. It's not always easy to live your faith, but I trust that each time that I do blessings will only be poured more abundantly.
