Hi I'm Tammy

I am a goofball who loves to laugh and bring laughter to others. I am a Georgia peach. I am a Mormon!

About Me

I am a single Mother, a grandmother, a sister, an aunt, a daughter, a niece, a cousin, a friend, a comedian and I am a Mormon! I enjoy working on hobbies such as, latch hook rugs, writing poetry, writing books and speaking in public. I enjoy hearing people laugh because I know I have brought a smile to their faces and a hopefully a song to their hearts! I also enjoy singing whether by myself or as a group. I have had the pleasure of raising 3 beautiful daughters and am now working on my grandparenting skills. I enjoy spending time with my family. We like to play games, go on walks, play at the park and just spend time together. I have 5 sisters, 4 brother-in-laws, 25 nieces and nephews, 1 niece-in-law and 1 nephew-in-law, 1 great nephew, 2 great nieces and 2 handsome grandsons! Another grandchild will be added to our family the beginning of 2014 as well. I have 2 wonderful parents who have raised us in the gospel and who have taught all of us to be strong and to always stand for what we believe in no matter what the situation. I, like everyone have had trials in my life, like breaking a bone in my back, herniating a disc in my neck and suffering from a spinal cord injury all from falling down a flight of stairs! I have never questioned the Lord as to "Why me?" rather, "Why not me?" I know that the Lord would never give me a challenge I could not handle and whenever I felt I could not bare anymore pain I turned to the Lord in prayer and my prayers have always been answered.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because my Mother chose to join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at the age of 18. Her strength and testimony have always guided her through trials and although, some family members have not chosen to stay members of this great religion I know that when we pass away we will all be together forever as my parents were married and sealed for time and all eternity in the Temple and we, in turn were sealed to them. I truly believe in the power of families being together forever! I am member of this great church because I am a daughter of God. He loves me and knows me individually and by name and no matter what will always be there for me. All I have to do is pray. I can talk with my Heavenly Father whenever I need to and he will always listen and in return all I have to do is listen. Although, sometimes I may not get the answer I am looking for I always get the answer I need through the guidance of the Holy Ghost and through my Faith I know my Heavenly Father will never steer me wrong. I also love the fact that through the Atonement of Jesus Christ I can repent of my sins and be forgiven if I but ask and listen to his counsel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by living. By this, I mean I try and live the way Christ lived with modern accomodations and luxuries. I try and make sure that I pay attention to my surroundings and to the needs of everyone around me and not just those in my family although, they are important I feel it is also important to set an example in everything I do and everywhere I go. After all, you never know who is watching you so why not put your best foot forward so to speak and let them see the positive. In today's world of social networking sites, negative media both in print and online and television it is so easy to get caught up in things of this world. Satan wants us to be unhappy so he tries to surround us with things that will destroy our families. I love to serve others because it makes me feel good inside and because I know that's what I need to be doing. I listen to uplifting music and I read my scriptures daily. I also enjoy the uplifting messages I read in other church publications as they help me to better serve and teach my family things I think are important. It may seem difficult to be happy and positive everyday but, if you work at it soon it becomes a habit, a habit worth keeping!

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Tammy
We baptize our new members so they can feel the "washing away of their sins" as Christ did, Although, he was already without sin Christ set the example of being baptized. At the time of baptism we enter into a covenant or promise with our Heavenly Father to accept Christ as our Savior, to always follow him and keep his commandments and to endure to the end. Our Heavenly Father loves us and wants us to return to live with him someday which, we can do by keeping his commandments. Show more Show less
