Hi I'm Anne

I am a student at BYU studying journalism. I hope to change the world. I'm a sister and a daughter, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a junior at BYU in Provo, Utah on my way to become a journalist. I just got into the Communications/News Media program there, and I couldn't be more excited! My dream job would be to travel the world and write about poverty, hunger, endangered species, etc., but I really just want to do what Heavenly Father wants me to do and help people. I really enjoy sports, especially track and soccer. I love photography, writing, animals, food, and sleep. And any sort of dessert, especially chocolate. I am probably the biggest sweet tooth around. Whenever I want to relax, I either cook, write, or listen to music, depending on my mood. I like all types of music, and I am sort of in love with vinyl. I have my record player here at school, and I listen to it a lot. Some of my favorite artists are The Fray, Elvis, Michael Buble, and Britt Nicole. I grew up near Spokane, Washington in the middle of the woods on a mountain, and I absolutely loved it. I went to a small high school and had the most amazing friends, teachers, and coaches that I could have asked for. Graduation was very bittersweet for me, but like I said earlier, BYU is a wonderful place to be, and it's exciting to be moving on with my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up the in LDS church. My mother is a convert and my dad grew up in the church also. But regardless of any other reason, I am a Mormon because I know the church is true. It can be hard sometimes to live the gospel, but whenever I have a problem, I pray about it and I am always assured that this is the true gospel. I love the church and have been blessed so greatly by its teachings.

How I live my faith

I love the gospel so much, and I try to do everything I can to show others how much I love it. I am attending Brigham Young University, a school based around the values of the LDS church and supported by the church. I am taking a New Testament class this semester, and will continue to take religion classes every semester until I graduate. I have many friends who aren't members of the church, and I will gladly answer any questions they might have. I love my friends so much, and I want them to be as happy as I am because I have the true gospel with me. I go visiting teaching (sometimes a little last minute, but it still gets done!) and I go to church every week. Again, I just love the gospel and it has helped me so much in my life.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Anne
A testimony is your own witness of what you believe. A testimony will start out small, then build upon itself with the knowledge you gain. Your testimony can be strengthened by learning more, living the right way, and also by sharing it with others. Show more Show less
