Hi I'm Sister Emily Williams

I'm Sister Williams, I'm a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Colorado Denver North Mission!

About Me

I LOVE my Heavenly Father and my Savior! That is why I chose to serve a mission. I did not plan on coming on a mission and leaving everything behind, until my Heavenly Father told me He wanted me to go, but it was my choice. And it still is my choice! I chose to come out here for eighteen months to serve Him with all of my heart, might, mind, and strength! And that's not easy, let me tell you! Even when times get rough out here, I remember all the times my Heavenly Father prepared and told me to come out here! Those small moments give me the strength and courage to continue on! Back home, I went to BYU and applied for the Choral Music Ed program. Music is my life, and I could never live without it! I love the opportunities I have out here on my mission to continue my love for music! I know that we can learn things from songs that we could not listen to or learn otherwise. My soul fills with joy and peace when I sing familiar hymns, EFY songs, and other uplifting music!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, and I just can't leave. The Young Women in my ward are amazing, my leaders are wonderful, and life without the church would be missing something enormous. Watching the primary kids in bear their testimony reminds me of why the church is the greatest ever. They have such faith as they say "I believe in Jesus Christ and I know that President Monson is a prophet of God and I know that the scriptures are true." Also, whenever I here a hymn, I think of what it is trying to tell me about God and how I can be close to Him. I know that Heavenly Father cares, and I love Him back.

How I live my faith

One day, one of my friends asked me why I always smile and why I'm always so happy. I responded with, "I don't know why, but thanks." Here is my answer: I know that Heavenly Father loves me and wants everyone to feel that love. I can't tell the whole world, so I smile everywhere I go. That way, I can hopefully lift someone's spirit and help them to feel loved. It even helps me to have a positive attitude and feel the Holy Ghost. I also chose to come out on a mission! That is why I chose to serve a mission. I did not plan on coming on a mission and leaving everything behind, until my Heavenly Father told me He wanted me to go, but it was my choice.
