Hi I'm Marlon

I grew up in Guatemala, I'm a convert to the church, I'm bilingual, I love to help others and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Guatemala up until I was 22 years old then I moved here to the United States. I wanted to start a new life. I learned English and started working at the Home Depot. I have moved my way up to Department Supervisor and now am a MOD. I like to play ping pong and am pretty good at it. I like to keep myself healthy and go to the gym often. I like to BBQ often. Some people may consider me a clean freak but I like to have everything neat and tidy. I really like to be successful and work hard for the things I want. I feel I have met my soulmate, the love of my life and will be married in October 2011. I became a member of this church in July of 2011.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised Catholic and I used to attend church when I was younger. I stopped going because I felt it was the wrong church for me. Throughout my life I had run into a few people and friends who were members of the church and had wanted to share the gospel with me. I had collected a few Books of Mormon but never really looked into the church. I met this girl in March who was a member and we hit it off. She shared a lot about the gospel with me and invited me to attend church with her. I left church feeling pretty good. I could feel the peace inside me and could see the people there were really sincere and happy. I started meeting with the missionaries who, after many lessons, felt I had been ready to be baptized for a long time. After all that happened before, I finally realized that God had been looking for me all this time and He does have a plan for me and my life. Getting baptized was a special experience. Since then I can feel that my life has changed for the better and I can feel that peace and happiness that I had been looking for all my life. I am a Mormon because I believe Heavenly Father really has a plan for all of us. I can really see the difference the Gospel makes in one's life and I am truly happy I made the decision to join.

How I live my faith

I go to church every chance that my job will allow. I read the scriptures every night and I talk to others about the Gospel. I strive to be a better member and person in the community. I do my best to help others and live the way God wants me to live. I pray every night. I am excited to be a home teacher and visit with families to help them with anything they need and to share my testimony with them and others. I am honest, hard-working, caring and loyal to my job, friends, family, ward, and anyone I may come in contact with. I try my best every day to follow the commandments that Heavenly Father has asked us all to follow. I know I am a Child of God and by living my faith will someday return to live with my Father in Heaven.
