Hi I'm Russell

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Jacksonville, Illinois where my Mom and Dad moved after my Dad was released from the Army after World War Two. My Mother was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and my Dad was Baptized to the same Church when I was about 5 years old. A couple of years later I began reading the Book of Mormon. I was the only boy in Jacksonville who was a member of the Church from Elementary School, Middle School, and High School. When I was on my Mission of the Church, I drove past Wilmington, Delaware and received a spiritual thought that I was going to meet a girl from there when I returned to BYU. Three years later I did meet a special woman from Delaware. I loved her and I married her. After I received my Masters Degree I joined the Air Force. I was able to travel very much, and then was put in charge of many things. I am now retired and having much fun with my Wife, my 6 children, and 20 grand children.

Why I am a Mormon

After I read the Book of Mormon as a young child, I received amazing information and feelings which gave me a testimony of the Restored Gospel; The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know that Joseph Smith had been visited by our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ; and then was visited by Moroni who showed him the gold plates of the Book of Mormon. As I continue to read the Book of Mormon, I continue to have greater faith in our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reading scriptures each day, and attending our Church Ward each Sabbath Sunday. I also love attending our Temple each week because the spirit is wonderful in all of our Temples, and Heaven is so close. I also focus day by day on our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ. As I focus on the Atonement of Jesus Christ it strengthens my faith.
