Hi I'm Jina

I adopted my 3 foster kids. I am learning to play the piano as I teach my 4 kids to play the piano. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mom of 4. I returned to school to finish my Bachelor's degree when my youngest went to pre-school. I didn't always practice my faith. As a teenager I accepted a challenge to read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover and ask in prayer if it was true. I did just that and now I know that it is true. It changed my life forever.

Why I am a Mormon

I read the Book of Mormon and I know it's true. That's really it. I like the other stuff too, but it really just comes down to the moment that the Spirit bore witness to my spirit that the Book of Mormon is true.

How I live my faith

We do the typical things that Mormons do. We pray and read our scriptures as a family every day. We go to church and we don't shop on Sundays. We pay our tithing. I try to be Christ-like in all that I do and say. When I mess up I try to fix it quickly and honestly. I'm trying to be like Jesus.

Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

Jina
This question makes me think of the Mormon pioneers. The pioneers that were prepared were able to literally carry the burden of their own family as well as lighten the burden of others. Those who were not prepared were unable to help others on their journey. It's the same today. When we aren't meeting our own needs adequately, we can't assist with the needs of others.
