Hi I'm Dave

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to sing, and play music, on the radio or my guitar. I like to Read, Cook, Or have good in depth discussions or debates. I am thinking about going to College for Linguistics, as I REALLY love languages. I am also into martial arts.

Why I am a Mormon

Man, there is So much to this question. there REALLY is. Long story short, God confirmed to me that this was the right church I needed to be in. He confirmed this very strongly to me. I'll tell ya though, it was not at ALL an easy journey to receive such confirmation. Ask me sometime, if you would like, and I will tell you in much greater detail.

How I live my faith

Right now I am just striving to be the best I can be one day at a time.I currently am the Elder's Quorum Teacher at my ward, and I do my best to share my faith as much as I can. I would have loved to be a missionary, but I joined the church when I was to old to be, so I just do what I can when I can.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Dave
A testimony is a firmness of belief, not brought by intellectual reasoning, (though intellectual reasoning does support a testimony) but a testifying to your spirit by the Holy Spirit that something is true or not. This is vitally important, because, (believe me I know) there are so many people out there, with SO many different ideas as to what is true, and what is right, that to seek a truth intellectually these days will result in nothing but a mental fog, and being pulled on 500 or more different directions. Everyone claims to have the truth, and EVERYONE'S truth is different, yet sometimes even founded on the same idea. The bible claims that the Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth, and will testify of that truth. The spirit is the one we should trust (as Paul says, Let God be true, and every man a liar...) And thus, we seek the Testimony of the spirit to know if something, like the Book of Mormon, or the Prophet, or the Words of the General Authorities, and... Everything... is true or not. Hope this helps :D Show more Show less
