Hi I'm Miryam

I'm a teacher, a wife, a mother, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have always enjoyed learning and teaching children, so being a mother has given me many teaching and learning opportunities. I teach elementary school, which also provides many occasions for me to guide and instruct young minds in an uplifting, positive environment. There are many times I am the pupil and gain a greater perspective about life from those I teach. It becomes a frequent occurrence where we merge and grow together. I enjoy baking, cooking with my husband, being with my family, taking education classes, and helping others. I strive to make my home an inviting sanctuary and refuge for my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always had a firm belief in a living God and Savior, Jesus Christ. In times of trouble or difficulty I have never doubted that our loving Heavenly Father is there for me. Instead, I have relied on him, sought His comfort and guiding hand, and He has never let me down. When the world around me is constantly changing, He is constant, never changing in his love for me. The Holy Ghost has confirmed the truthfulness of my faith to me every day. My church has become the foundation of what I believe and how I live. Without it I am not complete. It has helped me become whole. Like a finished puzzle, there are no pieces missing. I do not question who I am and my purpose for being on the earth. I understand Heavenly Father's plan and realize how I am a part of it. In the teaching profession, we teach a new concept by modeling the expected task for our students. Next we answer questions, give guided practice, and prepare each pupil to be successful in carrying out the assignment independently or in a small group. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has provided the model for God's children to be happy. It testifies that the Savior is the Master teacher who gave us the prime example and pattern to model our lives after. The Holy Ghost has answered my questions, quietly teaching me that He has blessed us with living prophets to guide us. I know The Book of Mormon testifies of Christ. It has become a solidifying force of truth as I practice what I have learned; teaching me how I can be a better teacher, mother, and wife. It is my instruction manual for happiness in this life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to practice its teachings every day. I believe that being obedient to God's will helps me to be a better person. It is my source of true happiness and peace of mind. I make an effort to find out what I can do to become a little better every day. I look for ways I can share my God-given gifts with others. I make a lot of mistakes along the way, so I try to learn from them and move on. I believe this is putting the Atonement into action as I work to become more like my Savior. Studying the scriptures, prayer, and teaching my children of the Savior have become a daily practice of living my faith. I serve in my congregation by teaching twelve and thirteen year old young women how they can be strong and hold to the standards of our faith. Their determination and inner strength are a pillar of wisdom for their peers. I also visit and encourage other women in my congregation; we have a support network where we serve and strengthen one another as daughters of God. My life is better as I serve and assist others as my offering to the Savior. I serve in my community by volunteering for activities in the schools my children attend, Girl Scouts, food bank collections, and various programs for humanitarian assistance.
