Hi I'm Kelcie

I play piano. I tutor. I am a student studying elementary education. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an Honors Student at school in Arizona. I play piano and am currently learning how to play the organ. I have 3 brothers. One brother died before I was born though. They prayed for another baby and 9 months later I was born. God truly answers prayers. My other 2 brothers and I live in AZ and love to hangout and play pool together; through the experience of my older brother dying I truly cherish my family relationship now. I did yearbook, swim team, tennis, golf, and dance in high school and really love to try new things all the time. I take online classes, and love to read memoirs in my free time.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason I am a Mormon is because it's the one thing in life that I can really attribute to my happiness. My senior year of high school I was going through a really hard time, and trying to figure out my true identity. I started analyzing my beliefs, values, and myself as a whole. I really prayed about what I should do as I was to depart to college and what direction I should be going at this turning point in my life. Every time directly had a feeling that someone was telling me, "You know who you are." I realized I always knew right along the whole time innately who I was, I had just forgotten it. Sometimes in life as I get sidetracked and am just going through a rough patch, I can always rely on my testimony that I know I am a daughter of God, and that everything we go through is for our benefit. He always listens to our prayers and answers, just in his own time. He wants us to be happy and know that he loves us. I continue to walk by faith and love my life more and more each day as the church has taught me who I am.

How I live my faith

I continue to live my faith by going to family home evenings in our young adult ward and going to church on Sundays. I visiting teach 2 girls once a month, and really that just means that I visit and talk with them at their house to see how they are doing. It's fun to go to church activities they host at our church right in the middle of Arizona State's campus. I go to institute (Mormon church building especially for young adults) twice a week and learn more about the bible and Book of Mormon and other teachings of the Savior. I say prayers daily to start off my day and throughout the day anytime I feel a need to say one. I say them aloud and in my heart. I read my scriptures morning and night and whenever I am going through a hard time.

How can I know Mormonism is true?
