Hi I'm Cherie

I am a licensed Civil Engineer, but currently am a full-time mom of four awesome kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania, very active in sports and school. My sibilings and I were one of three families that were Mormon at my High School. I left home when I graduated to be around more people of my faith - attending BYU (Provo, UT). While there, I met my husband and we were then married in the Washington, D.C. temple. I finished school with a BS in Civil Engineering and worked full time for the next 8 years designing roads for cities, counties, and states. I currently am a full-time mom of 4 awesome kids who keep me busy. I don't have as much time as I would like to stay active in the sports I grew up playing, but as a family we try to enjoy the many opportunities the beautiful Pacific Northwest provides as often as possible. I also enjoy sewing, crafting, blogging, and reading.

Why I am a Mormon

My mom is a member of the church (but my dad isn't), so I grew up going to church with my mom. I am a Mormon because I have gained a testimony that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Jesus Christ's church on the earth today. I have also learned from experience that TRUE happiness comes from living the principles of the gospel. I feel peace and joy in my life because I know that the life I am living will help my family and I to return to live with our Heavenly Father again some day and be together as a family for eterninty.

How I live my faith

I live my faith starting in my home. My husband and I try our best to teach our children the gospel. In order to strengthen us as a family (and individually) we pray, read scriptures, and spend quality family time together. Attending church each week is important to me. It helps fill my spiritual cup that has been depleting throughout the week. I can see how my week goes better when I attend church and show my Heavenly Father that I am committed to being His disciple.
