Hi I'm Rachel.

Laughing is my favorite thing to do. I'm a science, journalism, and literature finatic. I say ya'll. I'm a Mormon. =)

About Me

I was born down in the south and have been here my whole life. I have lived in Texas for 11 years.I believe that I am a true Texan. I play the viola.I can feel God's love when I hear the hymns . Journalism, science, and literature are my passion because they explore and seek universsal truth. I have the most amazing family. I have 4 siblings (it can be a little crazy-but I love them) . I can always count on my friends to make me smile. I love being goofy, crazy, silly, and having good wholesome fun. If I hadn't been born into the gospel I would never have this happy of a life. I am truly thankful to have it in my life. I know God loves me,has a plan for me, and will never let me down.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and have always been taught the gospel from the time I was very young. At first I relied on my parent's testimony that it was all true. I expected mine to come all at one time- like the flashing on of a light. Instead I found it came from slow, true conversion- as if the sun was rising. It took longer than I expected it to, and at first I didn't even know that I was making any progress. I use to believe that it was true but now I know for myself. I continue to work on becoming a better example and follower of Christ.

How I live my faith

I attend church and other activities, including seminary. Seminary is sort of like bible study and I wake up at 5:30 for it, but it is more than worth it. I am the second counselor in my miamaid class, which means I have to orgnaize activities for my peers and try to be there for them twenty-four seven . In addition, I try to follow all the gospel teachings throughout EVERY day (I'm not just Mormon on Sunday).

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

There's a church song I learned as a kid that's titled "Families can be together forever". We believe that if you are righteous in the this life and do all that the Lord asks you can be a family up in Heaven. This is because of Temple marriages. Once sealed with your spouse or family (if not married in the temple originally) they are your eternal family for all time. Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Mormons certainly do help other mormons, but we are also very eager to help those not of our faith. Much of the service we do is in fact not to ourselves. We are one of the first to arrive at the scene of a disaster. Service to others is what this church is about. There are thousands of missionaries serving all around the world today that are there so that others may have the opportunity to learn the truth and find happiness. Show more Show less
