Hi I'm Kodi

I love music. I sing Country and Jazz. I hunt, hike and fish. I work at an animal hospital. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Music is what I've always done. Ever since i was little I've been practicing instruments and singing. In high school I played trumpet and the highlight was winning several competitions with my bands and then traveling to London, England to perform in their New Years Day Parade. I finally decided to audition as a solo vocalist for the jazz band my Senior year, I got the part and fell in love with singing. Since I discovered this talent, it's become my passion and it's what I want to persue in my career. I'm not just a music nerd though, I also love being outdoors. Fishing, hunting, hiking, etc. are what I do whenever I get the chance. I also work at an animal hospital and assist with...everything. From surgery prep to cleanup, I'm there to lend a hand. I love my job and the joy it brings to help save everyone's beloved pets. I also love spending time with my family. They mean more to me than anything else. My family, above everything else, is the most important factor in my existence and I'm so blessed to have each and every single one of them.

Why I am a Mormon

Everyone has a conversion story. Even I do, and I've been attending The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints since I was a baby. I was baptized when I was 8 years old, but a true conversion is that moment when you realize that what you've studied and what you've felt in your heart, is true, and you wonder why you ever thought differently. Mine was my Junior year in high school. I was praying for a miracle to happen to allow me to become closer to my family. I was then given two major surgeries that kept me home for almost a year. I didn't realize that these trials were blessings and an answer to my prayers at first. In fact, it took me a while to get over myself and realize it, but the time I spent at home gave me constant opportunities to be with my family and it allowed me to spend time in studying this gospel with them. I now have an incredible and irreplaceable bond with them. I cannot deny this gospel and the entire truth that it has. I cannot deny the love that God and Jesus Christ freely show me. I've learned to never try to predict the journey of conversion because it's unpredictability comes when you're ready, and is undeniably the best part. I love my Savior and my Heavenly Father. I know that prayers are always answered in time. I'm so grateful for every moment I receive to grow a little and I know that God has grand plans for my life.

How I live my faith

With this Church I've had wonderful opportunities to serve in the community. My favorite has been visiting the elderly in nursing homes, singing Christmas carols to them and just talking with them. I've also had the chance to teach a few Sunday school classes and I loved studying the gospel to a depth that I could acquire the capabilities to teach in. Another thing I love to do is to sing in church. Using music to sing praises of this wonderful life, the grace of my Heavenly Father and my Savior, Jesus Christ, is just indescribable. Living my faith is important to me and I enjoy every opportunity I receive to do so.
