Hi I'm Kody

I have a beautiful wife and two beautiful children. I do sustainable energy research. I love my life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As a graduate student with a wife and two kids, life is busy. I do research in sustainable energy. Occasionally, I'm asked if having a family makes it tough to keep up with other students. Honestly, it is tough, but I couldn't and wouldn't do it without them. There is nothing better than going home at night and being with my best friends. I also find time to do a little cycling, play sports, and watch the occasional college football game. I love my life and I wouldn't trade it for anything else.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it is through my church that I have developed a relationship with my Savior, Jesus Christ. I have my struggles in life, just like anyone else, and I find peace and answers through my faith. I have found that by living my faith, I'm better in every aspect of my life than I would be otherwise. While I'm an imperfect person, I find redemption through Christ. I believe that we are children of God and, as such, he loves us more than we can understand. He wants us to be happy, both now and in the eternities. I believe that God is there for us and that He communicates with us as long as we are willing to listen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith because I cannot live without my faith. Life is tough and it helps to know that there's a reason for all of this. As a Latter Day Saint, I have found direction in my life. I have learned that I am happiest when I stop thinking about myself and try to put others first. My life is a work in progress, but the LDS church has helped me to be a better person. I love my family and I would do anything for them. I use the teachings of the church to teach my children to know how to deal with life. Life is tough, but I love it. I am happy.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Kody
We believe that we can live in Heaven with God. However, we cannot bring our sins with us. Therefore, we have to find a way to purify ourselves. The Atonement of Christ is when He suffered for our sins. As we repent and try to improve our lives, we receive forgiveness and healing through the Atonement of Christ. I know that the Atonement of Christ is real. I have experienced the miraculous blessings of the Atonement in my life as I've made mistakes and have felt true forgiveness. Show more Show less
