Hi I'm Amy

I am a full-time wife and mother of 3 boys. I have a masters degree in political science. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the second of five children and was raised in a small community in Utah. During college, I developed wanderlust and traveled to Austria for a semester abroad. After receiving a B.A. degree in Comparative Literature, I returned home to work as a paralegal for four years. Realizing that a career in law was not for me, I dusted off the wanderlust and lived in Germany for several months as part of a masters program in Political Science. Shortly after graduating, I married and moved to Washington with my husband. Now I am the full-time mother of three small boys. I am addicted to trying out new recipes on my family. I enjoy sewing and have taught several moms in my area to sew cloth diapers. I wish I had a "green thumb," but I struggle to grow anything in my little community garden plot, even though I have such great "helpers" that tag along. I enjoy going on adventures with my boys and experiencing the constant stream of humorous situations that inevitably follow three small people.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in a Mormon family and benefited greatly from the example and teaching of my parents. As I have grown in knowledge and experience, I have seen the many ways that my Father in Heaven has blessed and guided my life. As I have lived the teachings of the gospel, I have felt the witness of truth and seen the fruits of the Spirit in my life. Any sacrifice that I have made to follow my Savior has been more than repaid.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by teaching my children every day to be kind, to share, and to live the Golden Rule. In teaching these principles by example, some days I teach this better than others, but each day I begin anew with faith that the grace of my Savior can help me become more like Him. I live my faith by attending church meetings and teaching Sunday School classes, even though much of the time I am distracted in caring for my children during the meetings. I live my faith by following the moral standards of the Church and setting an example for others.
